Butcher Shop Vet - sandwiches made to order — Local services in Amsterdam

This review is just about the lunchtime sandwiches - I’ve never bought meat here. Cheap and fast but mostly importantly delicious. They not big, so some people order 2 (1.5 is my absolute limit.) I love the Zeedijk - smoked chicken bacon... lettuce and a special sauce. $3.50 and it’s so popular that they make them constantly (meaning sometimes you don’t even have to wait for it to be made) - the line is usually out the door and ordering can be a little hectic. But lookout for the like white menu stand on the counter - it has english on one of the sides. And they usually ask me to pay in cash (probably because my total...

Basically they serve your food (also sandwiches, which are ready to eat) with the same hands that take your cash when you pay, without washing hands between a costumer and another one and NO ONE wears gloves. That's a real pity because the products and the sandwiches are good, but this had a disturbing impact on me. They could easly put one person at the cassa who handle the payments and another person preparing the food (with gloves) like any other place in the world, and they could immediately level up...

I said I wanted a sandwich they said I didn’t have a choice and to get their house sandwich. Turned to my right, guy with a small pile of sandwiches gives it to me. Shouts at me to enjoy the sandwich. I pay. I leave. I enjoyed the sandwich.
