Tailors of Amsterdam — Local services in Amsterdam

I’ve been going here for 5 years - Tailors of Amsterdam is really the place to go to get your textiles fixed or modded. Back in 2020, I brought them all the curtains I had bought for my house from IKEA, and they tailored the lengths perfectly to match my different windows. The work was timely, professionally done, and the end result was beautiful. Just today I picked up a dress, a top, a skirt, a pair of trousers, and a pair of sports leggings - they did about 6 fixes (tears and holes) and it only cost 38 euros. They asked if I was in a rush when I brought things in, which shows they care about people who need to get their items fixed quickly. I said I was in no rush, but still everything was completed within a business week. Add to that, the material of the skirt and leggings I feared would be hard to repair, but it was done impeccably. When you pick up your items, they review them with you to ensure they fixed them for you as desired. Absolutely no judgement on type of textiles / clothing or if it’s “worth fixing or not”. Again, thank you very much for your very skillful and professional services! I was very Lucky to have found this tailor shop while visiting Amsterdam on a holiday. During my visit I accidentally got my favorite Under Armour cargo pants torn on the sides really really bad. My wife advised me to just let it go and buy for a new pair of pants. But me and these pants had been thru a lot, thru hardships and good times, walked a lot together, even thru long shopping walks with my wife, and I can’t just say goodbye to it just like that. I asked around for a good tailor shop service and they were recommended to me. I was really Surprised and astounded when i came to back to pick it up. It really looked so new and fresh! I decided to try to this place as they were so highly rated. They are indeed friendly staff - but the repairs on two knit jumpers were quite poor. The stitches are wonky and obvious. However, for only 3 euros - I suppose that might be expected.

The main issue was one of the jumpers I requested to be dry cleaned. They had cleaned the wrong jumper so there was a mix up there, and then when I picked up the other jumper there was a big patch on the front that seemed to be melted. This was not on the jumper before and seems to be a result of the cleaning. Of course they insist it must have been there before, which I know it wasn't but you can only take my word for it.

I would not go here again for repairs or cleaning due to the quality of the repair and the mistakes...
