When you go inside, while sitting on the chairs you start a time travel, you look around and you feel in the 20’ s . Every corner smells like history that is strenghten by the walls in different colors of green and brown with old fashion pattern and dark wood.
The atmosphere is great, that fantastic smell of the roses and the sweet music that makes you feel comfortable and enjoy it. The staff is friendly, while they're busy they make sure to keep a kind and helpful attitude. And their expertise is really impressive, they can tell them your preferences and based on that they can recommend you a cocktail that meets your desire.
But we come to our travel buddy, ofc one of the amazing, delicious and tasty cocktails. I didn’t have the lucky to taste them all, but I really like the Iron Scow. When you smell it a taste of liquorice and mint come to your nose, you feel like in a cold winter night. When you taste it, note of liquorice, apple pie, caramel and orange start to dance a valzer together all around your mouth. These are of course my sensation, but I could be completely far from what it really taste.
But for sure, they offer you a time travel and ad an...
Read moreAn unusual experience due to the nature of our waiter... Not necessarily in a bad way in a kind of eccentric way . The bar has a speak easy feel to it, nothing on the outside giving away it's name just a lit sign saying bar. You have to ring the bell and wait to gain access... We had to wait a while and were starting to think it was closed when the door opened There is a heavy curtain as you enter all adding to the mystery and you are asked to wait to be seated. Inside its dark and has the feel of a gentleman's club, the bar is over 3 small levels... A couple of steps down to the bar and a few more steps up to a mezzanine You aren't allowed tables of 5 and above... So split your party before entering. Cocktails cost around 15 euros each and our made with lots of passion... My other half wanted a Bloody Mary which wasn't on the menu and I watched it being made... Lots of attention to detail... I had a jitterbug for a change as I always order an espresso martini... I loved it... The waiter was a little unsure when you asked about anything off the menu but kind of added to the quirky charm of the visit... A...
Read moreA beautiful slice of the old world. Perfect cocktails.
Find this place, dark and curtained off from the world, ring the doorbell and wait for one of the impeccable waiting staff to answer and (hopefully, as it is small) usher you through velvet curtains to the warm, wooded interior. I think I saw a fireplace to the left, winding dark wood stairs lead up to a mezzanine second floor, and down to the bar.
The menu has an exciting selection of cocktails, including seasonal and weekly specials. But they also happily craft the classics and probably anything else you fancied. My boyfriend ordered the Penicillin from the winter menu (Very Smokey whiskey based short cocktail), I went for a Manhattan and it was so good I swore it's the only thing I'd ever drink from then on.
Cocktails are all c.€15. I have no idea if they serve anything else (wine/beer). Service is slow but it's not from negligence - it's just the pace of the place. I would happily return and lose a whole...
