In 3 years at Maastricht, Hae has been my ultimate spot to get together with other artists and creative people of all ages and different backgrounds. Audrey, the store's owner, is a friendly and welcoming host who serves her delicious home-cooked Asian dishes, among other treats. Every month, a different artist displays their work in the gallery at the back of the store, and a lot of what Audrey sells come from previous exhibitions. Although the store has a distinct East Asian flair, you can also find work there from local Dutch artists and designers in addition to pieces from around the world - Colombia or Africa or France, for example. Musicians and poets can also perform here in a cozy, intimate setting. I've also participated in the crafty workshops to practice woodworking and embroidery. They also donāt over charge for their food like a lot of other places. For ā¬8 you get a homemade lunchbox (Homemade! Not frozen food! She makes it fresh everyday.)
