I used to attend Kotte' Aguilar's yoga sessions at ARA many years ago. More recently, I have been going to yoga at Christchurch City Council Pioneer Recreation and Sports Centre. When Pioneer closed for renovations, I registered for the trial period at "Being". What a revelation! I feel included, nurtured and most of all, I have fun, with a yogi I now consider my friend. I feel I am in safe hands during Kotte's classes, and there is a strong sense of community within the group of regular attendees. During one class, we had a guest appearance by a flock of seagulls squawking at the window. They were dismissed with the same panache Kotte uses to adjust our postures. No topic is too sacred for discussion, including how to position your glutes in a symmetrical manner, who the real villain is in "The Lion King" and the importance of pizza. I have tried various session on offer, including nidra for the first time, which was a new experience for me. I also appreciate the fact that Kotte actively seeks feedback on all aspects of the practice. I would highly...
Read moreI had an incredible experience with Kotte! Her class left me feeling refreshed, centered, and at peace. What truly sets her apart is the amazing energy she brings to each session. There's a palpable sense of spiritual calmness that permeates the entire class, creating a deeply nurturing environment for practice. Kotte's soothing voice is like a gentle guide, leading you through each pose with clarity and encouragement. It's evident that she's not just teaching yoga, but sharing a holistic approach to well-being. The way she seamlessly blends physical postures with mindfulness techniques creates a truly transformative experience. I left the class feeling not only physically rejuvenated but also mentally and emotionally balanced. Her teaching style is a perfect blend of challenge and support, making the class suitable for practitioners of all levels. If you're looking for a yoga experience that nourishes both body and soul, I cannot recommend this teacher highly enough. Kotte has a true gift for creating a space of serenity and...
Read moreI'm a 100% beginner. I've been wanting to start yoga for many years now. But I was always in my head. I knew I've never felt comfortable attending classes because I struggle to keep up with the group. I have zero coordination and suffer from a chronic illness that's quite debilitating. My GP recommended me NZ Being by Kotte. And I couldn't be happier. Not only she is the kindest, funniest, extremely knowledgeable and sweet Kotte but her studio clearly shows what she stands for and I'm in love with the vibe, the wonderful and friendly atmosphere, where you instantly feel part of a community because regardless of our differences, we all have one thing in common and that is to prioritize our wellbeing, even when that means different things for each and every one of us. I'm a wannabe yogi... but I have to start somewhere... and i couldn't have found a better more suitable place! Namaste 🧘♀️ and thank you again Kotte for breaking the mold and creating this amazing place where healing...
