Came here 2 months ago and left a good review, but after returning here I have to give another. I know some places have their good days and some have their bad, but to come here and order lamb buns that were yum as lastime (couldn’t fault them) only to come back here and for them to be reheated in the microwave, is a no from me. If they were from the same day then yeah that’s fine, but the fact they were from the day before, I took one bite and chucked the rest in the bin (6 buns to be exact)If you reheat pork or lamb buns in the microwave, you will know the bun becomes soggy or hard, that’s exactly what I got was a soggy wet reheated bun and hard in the middle. Not to mention all you could taste on the inside was dark soy sauce over powering everything with its thickness and saltyness. $6 minaise just tasted like mayo and raw potatoes that weren’t cooked properly. raw fish was exceptional as always hence my 3 star rating. Will I be back? Most definitely and I’m sure they’ll be on their...
Read moreI have to say it's my new favorite place in Avondale if I want to go and grab a bite. The 2 owners are nothing but kind, welcoming, friendly and always have smiles on their faces. The customer service is 2nd to none. The food is exceptional. I reckon anything you get from there, you wont be disappointed. The pineapple bread is amazing, the chips are great, the rolls and pork bun is top notch and they sell their food at very good and affordable prices and is well worth the price for the portion sizes. Their hard work and dedication shows itself in the food and I hope they stick around for a long time coming because theres a lot of food places in Avondale but very few can tick all the boxes like Pignic does. Go in store, get uber eats from them, share them across social media, support the local businesses in your community. I will definitely be back (sooner than later) and this might well be a...
Read moreI found out about Pignic through one of the events where they closed parts of Great North Road and other streets in Avondale town centee in 2023. I missed out on their chop suey on the event but I came back a couple of months later determined to have some. Absolutely bomb! Also got the lamb curry, pork belly and chicken as a part of the $20 plate and its just superb. The staff was super lovely, and asked me how my day was going, to be in this day in age in Auckland can be hard to find! I also got to try some of the pineapple bread and got some of those too. Great value for money with a pile of delicious food. Would come back and bring friends! Hope to see them at the next Open...
