Im sorry, I think we need to find a new favourite.
We initially discovered this place because we were searching for hot wings and this was the closest place that had them (as per photos). It then became a favourite with the buttermilk chicken burger, which was huge. The crisp fries, which also had a massive portion. But now, I don't think we will be making a return.
First thing I noticed tonight was the table we sat at hadn't been cleaned. Second, and no disrespect to our waiter, we are sure he tried his best but he needs a lot more training to be comfortable. He seemed unsure where to place the water jug and glasses and generally unsure on how to service the table. He needed to write down out order, which is fine, but was unable to write fast enough or pick up on the short hand so that the cook may understand what was being ordered- not a massive issue, just needs more training and practice. But he also forgot a part of my burger and brought it out in a bowl on the side for me to assemble myself with no cutlery, or napkins provided to wipe my hands after touching greasy bacon. Third, we were one of only two tables that had ordered food and it was still very slow, we used to love the fast service and how quickly our food came out. But when our food came out, some of it was cold, some hot, especially the bacon that I had to add to my burger myself.
I was disappointed that the bun wasn't at least toasted as it felt like a lot more bread than burger, and having a crispy interior makes buns less gluggy. The other issue we had was our food was considerably smaller portion sizes compared to last time even buying the same meal. I pulled up a photo to compare and it didn't look like it came from the same place.
Combined with being a little tasteless, I think we'll give this place a miss...
Read moreWorst dining experience ever, order the Angus Rump meal asked for it to be medium rare and got a dry piece of steak, manager took steak back to kitchen speak to chef and brought it back to me and told me chef said there was nothing wrong with it, told her it wasn't to how I asked for it to be cooked and it wasn't edible and it didn't matter what the chef thought about how it was that I was paying for the meal and it wasn't to how I wanted it. She then tried to tell me that this is how it was cooked and that other restaurants I've dined at may get the same steak from a different supplier hence difference in how it turns out and then babbled on about what part of the body the piece of steak I ordered came from (are you serious) said she could discount my meal (that wasn't edible) of $6 (meal $26). Told her no, I would like my meal cooked how I requested or order something else, she expected me to pay for another meal on top of paying for a meal that wasn't to my liking (I had 2 small cuts from the steak) that it was not their fault that I didn't like the way the steak was cooked.
I don't know how long you've been in restaurant business but meals especially steak should be cooked to customers satisfaction not the kitchen staff, to argue with a paying customer and trying to convince them that this is how it is without trying to rectify the situation is totally unprofessional and poor customer service especially from management. It is no surprise your restaurant was practically empty, should of been a sign to walk out before ordering, will never return to your establishment and will tell everyone I speak to , to avoid this place. ...
Read moreWent for dinner. Struggled for parking. Very cold inside. Bleak atmosphere with worn furniture and an ageing sports-bar/pokies style pub out the back but in clear view of the restaurant. Pub patrons milling in and out through the restaurant or coming into the restaurant to play pool, loudly, which was disruptive to our meal. I wouldn't call this restaurant family friendly. Photos online aren't recent.
I don't mind eating at humble restaurants as long as the food and service are good. Both were not.
Server was dishevelled and missed items off of our order. Slow service.
Food was average. Menu on Google images completely different - in reality the prices are closer to Lone Star or Goode Brothers but without the ambience or quality in service or food. While the steak was good, all of our other food was bland and tasteless and served on limp, lukewarm chips. Ribs were dry and appeared to have a random sauce thrown over the top. Long wait for food - almost an hour.
It appeared our server was also the chef, which was odd and not great as we were without a server while he was cooking e.g. for drinks or to ask about our meals.
If staff shortages/cover are an issue (as alleged in another poor review) perhaps the restaurant shouldn't open on those days if the quality is thus bad.
Sounds like this place is better at lunch.
Based on the reviews, extremely disappointing experience and a waste of our time and money. I'd recommend going elsewhere. Will not...
