Hands down the greatest ski/board rental experience I've ever had in my 25yrs of skiing/boarding. You would be mad to use a traditional rental shop now that Snopro exist.
We stayed in Queenstown and skied the Remarkables during the July school holidays. It was the first time my 5 and a half year old daughter had been to the snow. My wife skied and I skied and boarded. I would usually travel with my own board but decided not to deal with the hassle this time.
Snopro arrived at our accommodation in Queenstown to the second of when we booked, 4pm on the dot. The skis and boots were excellent quality, we did opt for the premium boots.
The fitting was really good and (I can't remember his name) the Snopro guy, was absolutely awesome setting everything up and making sure we were all comfortable, he took as much time as we needed and we never felt rushed even though I'm sure they must have been flat out during school holidays.
I swapped out to a snowboard during the week and this was all setup for me as I drove down the mountain, so I opted to swing by the new boutique rather than have them drop by as we were driving right past. For no additional charge they would have come to me, but this was just as easy and I wanted to see the shop, which by the way is top notch!
The board handed to me was literally brand new, the bindings also brand new, still had stickers on them, and this was the first time the board had ever even had bindings mounted to it, when I say brand new, I mean out of the box new. It was a really good board too, a Salomon Huck Knife.
On the day we left, Snopro picked up our gear from the accommodation racks and drying room, we just hung it up and never had to think about it again.
Icing on the cake was because I swapped to a board and have my own boots, without asking, they issued me a refund on the days my ski boots went back, so I only paid for what I used.
I just cannot stress enough how impressed we all were with this company, I cannot believe the service they offer, it is too good, I feel spoiled. The prices are excellent, the same or less than quality gear from a traditional shop. You will be able to find cheaper rental gear, but it will be low end rental gear and you will suffer spending time waiting in shops. For the equivalent quality gear it may even be more expensive if you can find a rental shop that carries it.

Read moreWe had a mixed experience with snopro for our kids ski gear. It was school holidays and we asked them last minute if we could add to another booking. They said said yes, with no qualifications. They turned up with one set of boots for each child, with no option to up or downsize. The boots for my daughter were too small but the fitter talked her into it. They broke her toe nails. The skis for my 10 year old were way too short, but there were no options. They came back the next night with bigger boots and too long skis. There was a lot of debate about this but it was clear they were out of skis. It was school holidays but that's not on. They came back again the next night with correct skis, but failed to fit them to the boot. We got stuck st the bottom of a lift at cardrona trying to adjust a binding. They had someone on the field but I had to hack it. The skis the kids ended up with were very tired for my 10 year oldbut we were assured they were waxed. The 8 year olds were newish.
Overall this seems to be a company trying hardish but stretched...

We only had one day to get on the slopes. I had seen their van parked in front of our hotel when we checked in, and then looked up the shop's website. I tried to book a day's rental, but the site said that for one-day rentals we would need to go to the physical shop to book. So, we looked up the shop on Google maps and headed over. Little did we know that we Google maps directed us to their warehouse/service center. It wasn't their shop! We obviously weren't supposed to be there as the staff guy at the warehouse was surprised to see us, but he was so friendly and helpful. He took us in and said our family could do our rental there. He even helped us book our ski passes. The whole process was a breeze. As a bonus, we didn't even have to bring our skis back to the shop. All we had to do was leave them at our hotel locker room for them to pick up. Talk about convenient!
It's such a great feeling when a business knows how to treat its customers. Highly, highly recommend Snopro for all your ski/snowboard needs...
