For the price they charge, this hotel fell short. While the furnishings are somewhat opulent, there are a lot of little things that left me wanting. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good.||There is not enough parking for the hotel. When you drive in, there is only room for one car near the reception, and it's usually taken because the garage is full. This means you end up in the garage which is full of cars with no space to turn around. There is not enough parking for the amount of guests there and very little street parking.||The staff person at reception tried to be nice and said she would park our car. It was taking quite awhile and then when she came back she told me she had removed everything from the car and taken it to our room. We didn't want everything removed as we had two big heavy backpacks that we planned to leave in the trunk and were only staying one night. If she had simply asked if she could help with our luggage, we would have let her know that. ||There is quite a bit of street noise you hear in teh room. The glass is not sound-proof and we could hear the traffic and people walking by late into the evening.||Also, most nicer hotels these days have power outlets on the night stand tables or lamps. But this didn't, which forced me to crawl around on the floor under the night table looking for a place to plug my cell phone charger into.||At this price, I expect things to be top notch. They weren't. I wouldn't...
Read moreWe are happy to review and recommend after a fabulous stay at the Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel. The staff Diego, Meghan, Milko and Mac and every staff member were so caring, friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived.
The beds were great and room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our room did face the road but the road noise did not bother us.
The highlights of our stay included the hospitality with drinks with vinyls and canapés. A lovely way to bring people together and chat with fellow travellers and we met lovely people and shared travel tips and ideas. We enjoyed the Lakes Hayes Pinot Gris and the canapés were excellent. The other bonus was breakfast room and the food options for breakfast. We chose egg dishes and cooked breakfast which set us up for the day and barista made coffee was a bonus (additional cost) but there were other options available.
They had bikes you can use. Easy parking under building although we had a small car so it was easy and also Meghan mentioned there is discounted car hire for one of the companies they deal with.
Overall, a truly wonderful experience and definitely hope to return one day. We would recommend to others. This hotel was a highlight in our 12 days in Sth Island because of the hospitality and the care.
Wish you all well Diego and your...

Location: About a five-minute walk from Fergburger and other tourist traps, but that five minutes makes a world of difference — you can safely step outside the hotel and not risk being whacked in the head by someone carrying their snowboard.
And the free parking was much appreciated!
Staff: Friendly and helpful. Front desk clerks doubled as baristas in the breakfast room. It's clearly a team effort here.
Room: We booked the Gondola Twin Room (#1) which was larger than our hotel room in Auckland. It came with not only a tub but a kitchenette as well.
Internet & TV: WiFi speeds were acceptable. The TV was on the small side, and while it did have smart functions it wasn't connected to anything.
Food: The small breakfast room is located in the basement, past Ricky Gervais and down a flight of stairs. The resident chef will cook up your hot entrée and the buffet of yogurt, fruit and pastries will ensure that you leave satisfied. Flat whites and other fancy coffees are made to order for an extra charge; the automatic coffee machine did the job for me.
There's also a Happy Hour with drinks and canapes in the lobby area, if you're so inclined. We were happy enough to retreat to our room and recharge for the next outing.
Thanks to QPBH for giving us...
