Wow just wow!!!! Review of Queenstown Holiday Park & Motel Creeksyde. Queenstown Holiday Park & Motels Creeksyde is the best camp I've ever stayed in. Management bend over backwards to help people. My camper broke down late at night just 27kms from the camp. Whilst I waited on the recovery truck to arrive and collect my camper I thought I would take a long shot punt and ring the camp. I was amazed that the camp answered their phone at 11 pm. When I explained to the camp that my camper had stopped and that the AA vehicle recovery truck was on its way , I really thought that they would tell me not to bring it into camp so late at night...............but the wow factor was that the camp told me to bring the camper in on the truck and that they had an area reserved for such situations. Wow!!!!

I finally reached the camp at midnight and the truck dropped my camper on my camp site!!

Creeksyde camp is so well managed, and focused on and organised for this type of situation...........and they are extremely proactive in having an area set aside for my situations such as mine.

I felt that most other camps would not have answered their phone at 11pm.............and most other camps would not allow a camper to be brought into the camp on the back of a truck at midnight.

The following day Creeksyde management were extremely kind towards my situation...........I won't explain this kind act other than to say wow!...just wow!..........and thank you!!!!!

Overall I found the camp to be very well organised, very clean and lots of quirky wee things around the camp that make you giggle when you walk past them..........I would love to see Mr Bean's facial expressions and reactions as he stumbled on some of these quirky features lol.

Creeksyde people are just real good people.

The sign in the kitchen lounge area is so good.....the sign refers to just one rule........it says 'treat this area as if your in your mother in laws house'..........we found it hilarious and it sums things up nicely.

All of the Creeksyde staff were brilliant and they all seem to have their finger on the pulse........they all know what's going on........if you have a reasonable request then they will help.

I salute the proactive management style here......we as campers need to look after the Creeksyde team.

Very highly...

The actual campsites and facilities are great at Creeksyde. I would stay again. However, a little bit of feedback for the staff below.

Whilst checking into Creeksyde, I drove into reception which has two driving lanes (both same direction) out front. The space is quite tight, so thinking I didn’t want to block a lane in my campervan, I pulled up into a vacant spot - I figured the chances of that space’s driver arriving (in the 2 minutes it would take to check in) was lower than other vehicles needing to use the driving lanes.

I get out of my van and as I walk towards reception, without stepping into the building, I hear through the open door “now why’d you park there for?”

I begin to answer, “oh sorry, I didn’t want to blo-“

“You’re not supposed to park there, that’s someone else’s spot”.

Not even a hello, how are you. This woman’s (who I’m assuming is the owner?) tone - she wasn’t welcoming me to the place I’d be staying for the next two days, she was telling me off before I’d even stepped foot into it.

I tried to explain to her I didn’t realise their intention was for drivers to block the road in front of reception and all I got was, “I’ll try and check you in quickly then, before they return from the dump station”.

She tried to recover the conversation and told me she was “running out of spaces” - which, I don’t know, may have been stressful? Unfortunately that’s not my fault. I’d try to keep that stress to yourself and remain...

Fantastic affordable place, helpful friendly staff, great facilities, laundry is fantastic for washing & drying clothes & the time to wash and dry is pretty reasonable, we highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere affordable priced that's centrally located and within a 5-10min walking distance to a massive variety of food/dining options, family friendly entertainment and attractions aswell to all bars, night time entertainment, aswell as walking distance to most of queenstown's watersport/lake related must do and must see attractions aswell as 10min walk to the gondola, luge.||Queenstown taxi service (their business card is on the reception counter top for you to take one while you check in and are super fast to pick you up from here and provide a super friendly affordable service that matches the service provided at this ||accommodation/motorhome/camper friendly park.|walkable also to all the ski field transportation, ski hire/purchase related shops.|Would rate our overall experience staying here 2 nights in our rental...

This holiday park is in a convenient location within walking distance to town, tours, restaurants, and the lake. It has a lovely eclectic feel with lots of interesting artwork scattered throughout, made from recycled materials. Definitely worth a walk around the entire park. Whilst the powered sites are somewhat smaller than other parks, everyone is quiet and considerate so it was fine. What lets this place down is the lack of hot water. Doesn't matter what time of day or night you shower there is not enough hot water and there is also no hot water in the kitchen. So to do the washing up, you have to boil a kettle, which i feel goes against the eco-friendly nature of the park. Hot water is a necessity in a cold climate. I'd love to stay here again on our return trip to NZ, but not sure i could handle another cold shower on a 2 degree night/morning. Beware that if you stay between now and July 2023 you will have the noise of a hovering helicopter occasionally whilst they upgrade the gondola, which is understandably out of the park owners control.

While this campground is about $20-$22 dollars more than others it may well be worth it. Close to the airport, and Jucy rental we picked it, as we were quite jet lagged. Park repurposed many things and is big into recycling, composting & conserving. The place was sparkling and I constantly saw employees cleaning the facilities. Park has a number of bathrooms and multiple kitchens, which was nice. The one closest to our site even had a living room with a gas fireplace, perfect for a chilly evening. While the kitchens did lack pots/pans/utensils, they were clean and provided dish soap. The caravan sites were really close & on top of each other, so we were very glad to be camping in the off season.

The reception was friendly and helpful, and I was glad there was dvd hire available. The holiday park was walking distance to central Queenstown, supermarkets and other attractions such as Skyline Gondola & Luge, and Kiwi Birdlife Park. While the powered sites are a bit close to one another, the quirky design of the holiday park and ease of accessing the kitchen, toilets and showers more than make up for it. I particularly like the dump station design where you don't need to use the hose to dump the grey water. There is a large drain cover on the ground where you drive your campervan over, and you can open the grey water pipe to discharge it into the drain.
