This is my first ever accomodation review. ||We spent five nights at The Glebe in apartment 605. Our apartment was $650 per night. ||The location was perfect and the balcony and view were great. The apartment was a good size. ||The apartment needs work. The lounge room curtain was broken as was the bathroom handle. Also, there was mould in the bathroom. ||All of the plates in the cupboard were wet on arrival. The dishwasher had some plates and cutlery still in it and there was a partially dissolved tablet in the dishwasher which suggests that the plates and cutlery werenât cleaned properly (this probably includes the wet ones in the cupboard). Not sure why this wasnât checked when the apartment was âcleanedâ. ||We used the dishwasher several times and it definitely didnât clean properly. We went to wash plates/cutlery and the sink plug was very obviously broken and water wouldnât remain in sink. Advised the team and another plug (also broken but less broken) was delivered quickly. Water still wouldnât remain in sink but drained more slowly, which allowed us to quickly wash up so that we could reuse everything. ||We received two x toilet rolls for four people for five nights. Then you have to purchase them. We were aware that you had to purchase items if they ran out (normal for apartments) but two toilet rolls for four people is disappointing. I raised my concern and two more were deliveredâŠafter I purchased rolls.||The team addressed, or were going to address, all issues which was greatâŠfor the next people checking in. But for the cost of the apartment, you shouldnât have issues like this and you definitely shouldnât have to address these issues whilst on holidays. ||Definitely not worth...
Read moreAs our golf club social director (AKA one of the boys) booked our golfing trip to Queenstown NZ through a golf tour company, this was the place we were booked into. This is apartment style accommodation so there was 6 middle aged gents sharing a 3 room apartment. |The apartment was excellent, very nice and very well appointed.|As you walked into the apartment, it had a cupboard on the left with a washing machine and dryer in it (detergent was supplied as well), you then walked straight into a well appointed little kitchen with every you needed in it.|To the left of the kitchen was the master bedroom with queen size bed and single as well. It had an ensuite as well.|Through to the right of the kitchen, there was a nice meal and seating area and then down to the lounge area with a nice couch and good sized TV. Off that area was two bedrooms, one with a queen and single bed and the other with 2 singles. This was split by a nice little bathroom.|The place was really clean and fresh.|It also had a little balcony that overlooked a little court yard below and then a nice view over Queenstown township and the lake.|This place was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our weeks stay here.|It was a short 3 to 5 minute minute walk from the top of the city entertainment area with pubs and restaurants so it was well located.|Id thoroughly recommend this place for a group or a family to stay at whilst in Queenstown. It...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews, but when you book a hotel based on its stated inclusions and spend a significant amount of money, you expect to receive what you pay for. This is not family-friendly accommodation if you have an infant or young child, and nor did we experience a "highly personalised service." The hotel is within walking distance to the shopping precinct. However, if you have a physical impairment, you may find the steep street into the hotel, challenging. We specifically noted in our booking that we were travelling with a baby, and yet we did not receive a cot, nor did our bathroom have a bath. Further, the heating consisted of a floor wall-mount unit. This was brutally hot to touch, and therefore too dangerous to turn on with a young baby. Finally, we paid for two nights, but had to delay our arrival due to a fatal car accident which closed one of the roads on our route a couple of days prior. I notified the hotel that we would not be able to make it based on this and bad weather, and there was no offer of a refund. May I add, I again mentioned we were travelling with an infant at this point too. Disappointingly, this hotel was very underwhelming, certainly not exclusive accommodation or service. I'm certain you could go elsewhere with a nice view, amenities and service. Sadly, The Glebe did...
