**VEGANS PLS READ*** I ate their french toast on my second day in Queenstown and later on my trip found out it is not vegan, when it was CLEARLY marked vegan on the menu. I am usually so good at telling the difference between cow milk & plant milk, vegan & non vegan, but when they are famous for vegan meals- i didn't even think to question it. The staff claimed the menu was wrong & they were ordering new menus but it would have been nice if they crossed it off the menu or told me when I ordered the first time. I have been vegan for 2 years & vegetarian before that & haven't had that amount of milk/egg products in so long. My stomach reacted and I had no idea it was from one of the most famous vegan friendly restaurants in qt. Make sure you double check before you order here. The woman that informed me offered me a free breakfast but I felt so sick after hearing I just ate egg, milk, cheese, etc. I can no longer recommend this place honestly the staff was super sorry about what happened but after being so misinformed & miss guided about it, I wouldn't recommend it for vegans.

Absolute gem of a place! It's a cafe, restaurant, live music venue, and bar - sounds like a lot but it all works harmoniously together to create a very cool space. The menu changes seasonally but some firm favourites usually remain. Every time I am in Queenstown this is my go-to-spot to do some work and to meet friends. There is plenty of seating, WiFi, and the staff are so accommodating to all. Coffee was great, the cabinet food is scrumptious if you're looking for something quick or light to eat but my recommendation is to try something new and different off the brunch menu. This time around I ventured out of my tastebud comfort zone and sampled the widely popular Vegan Butty - and boy was I impressed! It was filling, the crispy tofu was awesome, caramelised onion gave the butty flavour depth and a nice sweet contrast. If they have a live event on definitely worth stopping by but my personal choice is to always come here during the day for the chill ambiance and tasty fare.

The food was worth the trip. I was a little worried that there was going to be a long wait to be seated. There was a lull in the service when I arrived a lot of people walked past, but not a huge acknowledgment or idea of when I would be seated. However, once I did get seated, my server was aware that I had a pretty quick turnaround and I was able to order and get my food really fast which was amazing and she made a good recommendation. I substituted mushrooms for The pork in the Pork Benny and it was amazing. The coffee was good and the open air seating was lovely. It’s a little loud because there’s a lot of people there and I definitely arrived at a good time because there was a queue as I was leaving. I doubt that there’s anything bad on their menu. Everything looked good. I think just overall they could step it up in their customer service to all. I think they did the best they could with a very busy environment. Clearly a very popular place.

5 of us went on a Sunday morning. It was busy time where people lined up to get a table. We finally sat down and ordered food and coffee and waited half an hour and saw the man sitting next to us who came and ordered after us got his food and coffee before us. My husband walked to the counter to complain and their explanation was that our food was more complicated and takes more time - which did not make sense to us because all kitchen should be cooking whatever order comes first whether more complicated or not. Food wasn't fantastic either. Especially the Blueberry pancakes, it was the worst pancakes I've ever tasted. Everyone at the table had a taste and felt the same. There were a few people working as all rounder/servers but it took them 15 mins to serve us the tap water and cups after we sat down, we had to ask twice. They also forgot to give us cutleries upon bringing the food to us and we had to ask for it. Up to this point, I wondered if this was a racism against Asian family. But the lady who served us had a kind manner to get over with these thoughts. If what we've experienced was not racism, I felt that this place is not managed properly and there was not a single worker who seemed to be working smart. Unfortunately we...

Where is our food? Somewhere over yonder…

Where to begin here?! An absolute circus of a venue, appropriately run by clowns. First of all there is a complete lack of any system. No staff on hand to explain the table process so you’re left milling around the counter trying to make sense of where to order and where to sit. Be prepared to stand in a long queue overhearing staff complaining about customers with spite and sarcasm. When you finally get to order, you’re demanded to explain where you’re sitting, even though you’re required to order before you can be seated. Can anyone see the problem here?! 45 minutes later, no sign of food. When politely enquired after, told straight up that the ticket never made it to the kitchen. A refund was offered which we jumped at, however they attempt to short change us. After an elementary mathematics lesson, we were met with a rude response and the full amount finally provided. The staff are poorly trained, unfriendly, unapologetic and seem like they have no idea how to accomodate customers. It’s a huge shame that people will experience this and assume all NZ hospitality is the same. Take your money and run, there are thousands of better...
