Yogiji's Food Mart — Local services in South Island

This is a good Indian grocery with good selection but it is much smaller with less inventory than the Christchurch store. Especially far fewer bulk bins so I was disappointed. I understand Dunedin is a smaller town but still. There are at least 3 other Indian groceries in Dunedin so there is volume. I didn't find the prices lower than average for Indian grocery, overall fair. They did have kind of worn purple kumara for $4/kg which is relatively cheap and they roasted up delicious! Carrots for $1.79 and apples for $2.49 were also good buys. Great...

When what we need is there it’s great. But otherwise unpredictable. They don’t seem to know when, or if, their products will arrive on time! Most of us go there for specific food items so it’s a wasted trip when what we expect to find isn’t there. Also parking is a pain when the university students are around. Customer service could be better. A bit of friendliness goes a long way. These people are still learning...
