When i first grasped a packet of snackachangi vinegar and salt chippies (40g) i knew i made the right choice. Fullers360 knows how to fill a belly with love, oil and carbohydrates. Paired deicately with a coke no sugar classic (300ml plastic bottle) i can find no flaw. The service is brisk, which is just what one needs when you're on a speedy commute. The smiles are hard to find, but the goodwill shines through as you stumble and struggle to maintaon balance. Such a serene atmosphere in closw quarters seating with red yellow and blue apolstry really makes you forget passive agressive comments crom the public at the ticketing office. The eating experience is delightfully coupled with two TV screens providing all the information you could ever need about waiheke island tours, when you can smell the salt spray yourself its hard not to imagine yourself prancing about their wineries, forgetting that what you're currently drinking is a coke no sugar. The ambience of parenting reminds you of the wholesome upbringing in the suburbs where having coke and chips was not to commonplace and one had to beg your parents for auch luxuries. From a health and safety angle i really appreciate the clear signage front and back for emergency exits which allow me to digest my corrugated chips without any indigestion. The PSAs about how to avoid bush fires pair well with the sparking flavour of sugar on my tongue and salt in my throat. I can rest assured knowing that if my trip were in the evening a wine could be available, upside down wine glasses are present all around the bar, sitting gently above the cookies and peanut slabs. The acoustics of the space are well managed with irregular and soft chairs, you feel like you could share your most private secret with a close friend or a loved one. Even the bouncing porting at devonport is but a sweet caress on my ears. 5/5 would eat chippies here again. Love it.

On this Good Friday, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Rangitoto, Auckland's iconic volcanic island, aboard a Fullers ferry.

The ferry ride itself was a serene experience, offering panoramic views of Auckland's skyline as it gradually receded into the distance, with informative commentary by the skipper. The gentle sway of the boat, instilled a sense of calm, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. As we approached Rangitoto, its imposing silhouette emerged on the horizon, a testament to the raw power of nature.

Disembarking onto the island, I was greeted by a landscape unlike any other. Lush vegetation blanketed the rugged terrain, interspersed with rugged lava fields that bore witness to Rangitoto's fiery past. Armed with a sense of adventure and a trusty map, I set off along the well-marked trails, eager to uncover the island's hidden treasures.

The hike to the summit was invigorating, as each step brought me closer to breathtaking panoramic views. Sweeping vistas of the Hauraki Gulf stretched out before me, while the distant outline of neighboring islands added to the sense of awe and wonder. Pausing to catch my breath, I marveled at the sheer beauty of nature's handiwork, grateful for the opportunity to witness such splendor.

As I descended from the summit, I ventured into the island's lava caves, ancient passageways carved by molten lava millions of years ago.

Throughout the day, I encountered a myriad of native flora and fauna, from vibrant Pohutukawa trees in full bloom to cheeky native birds darting among the branches. As I wandered the trails of Rangitoto, I was fortunate to encounter two of its iconic native bird species: the fantail, known as piwakawaka in te reo Māori, and the saddleback, or tieke. The piwakawaka, with its distinctive fan-shaped tail and playful antics, flitted among the foliage, seemingly guiding me along the path with its cheerful chirps. Meanwhile, the tieke, with its striking black and chestnut plumage and curious nature, made a fleeting appearance, leaving a lasting impression with its melodic call, sometimes sounding like the starting sounds of a car engine, when you turn on the ignition, echoing through the forest. These encounters provided a glimpse into the rich biodiversity of Rangitoto and served as a reminder of the island's importance as a sanctuary for native wildlife.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the island, I reluctantly made my way back to the ferry terminal, reluctantly bidding farewell to Rangitoto and its timeless beauty. Reflecting on the day's adventures, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience nature in all its splendor, and for the memories that would stay with me long after the journey had ended.

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, Rangitoto has something for everyone and is a must on your list off things to do, when in Auckland. However, do come prepared with your own sustenance neatly packed in boxes, as the island lacks food outlets. Additionally, let's cherish and respect this pristine environment by adhering to the principle of leaving no trace - bring back everything you bring in and leave only...

Fullers ferries - Taste of Two Islands - Rotoroa Island and Waiheke Island

We booked and went on this experience on Saturday 4 March. We booked this tour for our wedding anniversary. It was a real let down.

I guess this is a new tour you're running?

The ticket had two blank pages at the end of the pdf so I enquired about this, but didnt receive a response. So thought oh well just see what happens on the day.

The ticket says pier 13 which we waited at along with other passengers. It was not until the time to departure got closer that we thought that it's strange no one from Fullers is here. We walked down to the information board, that said pier 13. It wasnt until we asked and the staff member said oh no its leaving from pier 4. So we rushed to pier 4.

No details about the tour we were on what the day would entail from the crew when we boarded.

Rotoroa Island we arrived at and walked around. No briefing about which tracks to take, the signage around the island is inadequate. Maybe you need to say if you do this tour - you must do the guided option with it.

We got back to the ferry to depart for the Waiheke experience at 12.45 Passage Rock winery seemed to have no clue we were even coming as a group of 11. So they split us and said that they would stick us in "the tent". One of our group had dietary requirements which they informed two staff about and they said they would get on to. There was zero introduction about Passage Rock winery from the staff. We were asked which wine we wanted to try out of sauvignon or pinot gris, didnt go through their whole range or what we would be given for lunch. Our table had to constantly ask. Not enough glasses, not enough cutlery. Then about 40 minutes later the owner came and asked which wine we wanted. We had no clue what we would get for lunch. Some bread came out, not even a piece each for everyone on the table. The rest of the food came out haphazardly and then 5 minutes before we were due to leave - the lamb came out. Wouldn't it have been great to have the lamb with the rest of the other dishes. Overall there was nothing wrong with the quality and presentation of the food.

The dietary requirement person got some food put together about 15 minutes before we were due to leave. They said there was no option when booking to state dietary requirements.

We were late to the distillery and the fullers ferry waited for us to go back to Auckland.

This tour could be great. But the day was honestly a mess from the lack of organisation and detail. It made me embarrassed to be from New Zealand and saying to our international group that not all tours in NZ...
