Tepid Baths itself as a centre was great as the facilities were modern and clean. However, the customer service is atrocious, being led down by one particular staff member.
I was enrolled in the Learn to Swim program and it took every bit of effort from myself to firstly even attempt to sign up for lessons. This involved me sending multiple emails, making multiple phone calls over a period of time and have also showed up in person on numerous occasions and none of those initiatives taken by myself had any progression in terms of getting myself signed up.
I found this particularly disrespectful as I spent a considerable time out of my day to enquire about these lessons just to be told that “the person in charge of LTS is not here and that they’ll get back to me shortly” or just to have the call transferred to voicemail when you select the LTS option when calling. They never got back to me.
When I eventually got signed up, every time I had a query and would email through, it would take multiple days to a week to get a response. When I did get an email back, it was as if that email was written by a child, with no proper punctuation, grammar or even a name signed off at the end for me to know who I was communicating with.
Finally, when I decided to terminate my lessons, that was also not without hassle. I spoke to a kind receptionist who told me that while she could not cancel my lessons as she was not part of the LTS program, she would contact “Amanda” who would get back to me and notify me through email that my lessons were cancelled. That was over a week ago and still no email confirmation.
Almost every staff member I encountered over there was actually respectful and helpful. Amanda on the other hand needs to find a new job and do something she actually likes doing. She has no place in customer service as she lacks basic respect, efficiency and loves shirking her responsibilities. Please find someone else to take over...
Read moreWent here for Father’s Day after discovering my daughter loved swimming at the pool in Mount Maunganui. Unfortunately this facility is far inferior and quite basic comparatively. Not only that once we paid and went in, I found out that the temperature of the kids pool is quite cold and too cold for my very young (3 months at the time) daughter. So literally 1 minute after entering we walked back out and I asked for a refund, however the lady at the front desk was adamant that no refund would be given. I felt that was pretty unreasonable and said so. At this point she snootily offered a pass to return on another day. I explained that we would not be returning for the reasons I already mentioned, so thanks but no thanks, I’d like a refund. She was not happy about this at all! I asked why not and despite my request for justification no reason was offered as to why a refund was not appropriate. So all in all 3 stars for facility. -3 stars for the...
Read moreThis is a great place to go anytime. I guess the greatest challenge with swimming pools that have lanes is that they are often very busy at peak hour when people want to do laps, etc. Putting that aside, the pool is clean and the water is the perfect temperature. Having a Jacuzzi, a dry sauna and a wet sauna just adds to the experience and there is even a gym upstairs if you're so inclined. They sell lots of swimming items in case people don't have what they need when they arrive and they have good tidy changing rooms and showers, etc. Remember to take your own padlock for the locker room and it might be wise not to take too many valuables with you, as occasionally opportunists will break into lockers and this can happen in any facility. They can even make you a coffee for a reasonable price. I think the complex was recently renovated, as the pools are about a century old and they did a great job! I'll be going along as often as I can...
