I've recently returned to pilates after a bit of a break and was looking for a studio where I felt I would get some personal instruction to aide my aching back and a healthy challenge to tone up my 40 something body that needs some love and attention.
I heard about Studio Pilates through word of mouth and really pleased that I signed up for the Orientation session as I haven't looked back. The studio is really well designed, I love the screens on every wall to follow the exercises and instructions, which leaves the awesome instructors time to focus on our Pilates techniques and modifications.
I've signed up for the 30 day Amplify challenge, and although a wee bit sore in all the right places, I am enjoying taking the time every day to get my 45 minute 'fix'.
I really recommend Studio Pilates, so take a friend and sign up for the Orientation.

Read moreThe difference SP has over other reformer studios is their pre-recorded sessions which have a number of positives; leaves the instructor free to assist and monitor posture - and monitor they do consistent instruction and difficulty screens across the studio means everyone can see what to do throughout the pose The major downside is that you get the same video instruction on the same pose each time, there's no real ongoing learning and you really have to pay attention to what they're saying because they say a lot and it's easy to miss a key point. They don't do a lot of stretching at the end (one pose), the next class is generally straight after and there's no where to stretch outside of the studio which I don't like. I would recommend SP to both newbies and veterans but it hasn't 100% won me over from the other studios...
Read moreWas visiting for 1 night. Really wanted to book a sesh as I was staying close by. Went to book online but couldn't as I hadn't done a class there before. Text the number the day before but no response. Could see there were 7 available spots so got up nice and early the next day and turned up hoping to join. Got denied - politely explained that I'd been doing Pilates for 20 years, teaching for 15. Still denied. Took a look at their reformers... nothing special/different about them. I understand needing to keep classes safe, but being so exclusive with zero flexibility gives...
