Lobster & Tap — Restaurant in Waitematā

We always get the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll (it's delicious!) and frequently order the Combo (see photo). The roll is not large and the amount of lobster you get varies depending on the day and person preparing it (sometimes it's been on the low side). The coleslaw is bland and gross and I usually don't eat it, however the chips are delicious and the pickle is ok too. I haven't had the Classic Lobster Roll, Lobster Salad or the Lobster Mac & Cheese - next time! The drink servings are small - especially the wine. There's pretty much no service as you have to line up to order and also have to go collect your food after they set off the buzzer.

Apparently they use Canadian lobster. Not sure why they don't use NZ or Australian lobster? Surely it would be cheaper?

The downside is the Auckland Fish Market doesn't have a great atmosphere and the dining area is not great in the hot sun with a lack of small tables for 2 (you can dine inside though).

It would be great if Lobster & Tap opened a location in Commercial Bay...

Lobster roll was quite underwhelming. I think I expected a more flavourful lobster roll that had herbs & spices as it was my first time having a lobster roll. I’m not sure if the price holds up to the taste. However the toasted bread was pretty good I enjoyed that part more. The coleslaw was average. Fries were average. The one pickle threw me off though.

Depending on your tastebuds I reckon this would be alright for a few but if you are a super spice fan and real heavy on seasonings i reckon you won’t be as...

I know the food is good so giving 5 stars for that, but very disappointed today (Sunday) as we walked 20 mins in the rain to eat this for dinner only to be told that Lobster and Tap closes at 5pm instead of the 6pm indicated on the official website ( https://savor.co.nz/lobster-and-tap).

We were also treated quite rudely by the female member of staff who was there saying that they wouldn’t serve us anymore despite the official website stating a 6pm...
