Review for Thai Street Food
Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Street Food, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience that transported my taste buds straight to the bustling streets of Thailand. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that perfectly sets the stage for the delicious food to come.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a cozy yet vibrant ambiance, adorned with traditional Thai decor that adds a touch of authenticity to the dining experience. The lighting is just right, creating a comfortable environment where you can enjoy your meal and engage in conversation. The seating is well-arranged, ensuring a pleasant dining experience without feeling crowded.
Service: The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. They were quick to take our orders and provided insightful recommendations about the menu. Their friendly demeanor and efficient service significantly enhanced our overall experience.
Food: We ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and the Minced Chicken with Rice, and both dishes were absolutely delightful.
The Chicken Fried Rice was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The rice was cooked to perfection, not too dry and not too oily, with each grain distinct yet harmoniously blended with the rest. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, adding a refreshing contrast to the dish. The seasoning was spot-on, delivering a savory umami flavor with a hint of sweetness that made every bite a joy.
The Minced Chicken with Rice was another standout dish. The minced chicken was flavorful and aromatic, infused with a perfect balance of Thai herbs and spices. The heat from the spices was just right, providing a pleasant kick without overwhelming the palate. The accompanying rice was fluffy and absorbed the flavors of the minced chicken beautifully, making for a satisfying and wholesome meal.
Overall Experience: Our experience at Thai Street Food was truly exceptional. The combination of delicious, authentic Thai cuisine, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. This restaurant is a gem for anyone seeking to enjoy the vibrant and rich flavors of Thai street food in a comfortable setting.
I highly recommend Thai Street Food to anyone looking to indulge in some of the best Thai cuisine in town. Whether you're a fan of traditional dishes or eager to try something new, this place is sure to leave you impressed and coming...
Read moreWe came in for lunch on the 4th May and while I understand being short staffed is stressful, it is in no way the customers fault. From the moment we walked in we were met with what felt like hostility. We had booked online (to ensure the restaurant had capacity for us) earlier in the day and when we said this the staff members were very surprised and almost reprimanded us for booking same day. If you don’t want same day online bookings, then remove this functionality from your website. So our table wasn’t ready – which we were completely fine with, it doesn’t take 2 minutes to quickly wipe down the table and pop the cutlery baskets on there. If the staff had just handled that professionally we would’ve never even known that they weren’t ready for us. We were then told that we had to pay one bill per table and it was just too hard to split the bill (even though we’ve done this before) if this policy had changed, it should be clearly communicated in the confirmation email that was sent. It was then explained to us that 2 staff members have COVID, leaving them short staffed. This is unfortunate – but ultimately not the customers fault or problem, there was no need to speak to us so curtly. Once we had sat down and placed our orders, no drinks order was taken – then once the food started to come out, the waitress – rather than walking down the table to deliver the meal to the person who put their hand up (it wasn’t a long table, nor were there HEAPS of people crammed in) she rudely stood at one end and expected us to hand the plates down the line – which is just asking for something to get spilled or dropped. Once we made a few comments, the waitress then did go round the table and deliver meals to the correct recipients. Overall this is the second poor experience we have had here, and whilst the food is absolutely delicious – the service has MUCH left to be desired. We gave it another chance, but I don’t think we will...
Read moreHad a very bad experience at just in the entrance of Thai street today 1st of August. I am a frequent client at Thai street but today my experience turned really really bad. It was a friday and my colleagues of 6 walked from Queenstreet to Thai street bringing a work visitor from overseas. We were unable to prebook but we just tried to check if Thai Street has an available seat for 6. Right when we were at the entrance, we were asked by the manager if we had a booking. We said no unfortunately. Instead of nicely telling us they can't take us in, she flapped her hands saying NO seats available in a very unfriendly manner and just rushed and left us without even an inch of concern or respect. It was a great surprise for us considering most of us were regulars at your restaurant and had a visitor from overseas excited to try thai street as we were talking about your food and how good it is while walking to your restaurant. This was not a friendly happy experience for us. This will affect us thinking twice if we should go back to you again in the future or recommend you to our friends. You should review the behaviour of your team members. Although we havent booked, there should have been a nicer way to attend to clients. There were Multiple empty seats inside which were marked reserved, yes we saw that, but the way your staff treated us was rude for everyone...
