Located at Shop 10C, Waterfall Ridge Centre, on the opposite side of Mall of Africa just off Allandale Road, Midrand. They are on the 1st floor if you are taking the lift, then just past the Pharmacy. Not to be confused with Mal's Kitchen in Observatory Johannesburg. Also, new owner took over a short while ago... apparently for the better. The India Shopping Fair is held occasionally on the Ground Floor of the Waterfall Ridge Shopping Centre. No printed menus available, but extensive options displayed on screen. Warm, friendly reception from staff. Fellow (vegetarian) diners raved about the broad beans bunny and the Pasta. We opted for a Mutton Bunny Chow. Fairly acceptable pavement-style Cafe outdoor seating, but not unpleasant at all, as you can people-watch while you wait. The Mutton Bunny was true to Durban-style in presentation and taste, with the mandatory carrot salad and vinegar chillie on the side. They served a good-sized portion of bread with a generous helping of meat, soft-cooked potatoe, and thick Durban masala gravy for R100. A good, value for money outlet to grab a quick bite of tasty Indian...

There's a new lady working there, she's not friendly nor welcoming. My first experience though with some guy was great. He would even recommend the best meals and made us taste.
Food Their lamb curry bunnychow is really great, the spices blend so well together. The only thing is they put HUGE potatoes in their bunnychow and it looks like you have enough meat inside. Their bunnychow is already too expensive to not put enough meat for their customers, but overall it is tasty.
I also ordered the lamb biryani, to my surprise they did not use biryani. It looked like normal rice. I honestly did not enjoy it cause biryani is thin and longer but that rice wasn't nice at all. I wouldn't recommend it. Although the lamb curry was nice but it had to be with proper Biryani.
Atmosphere I didn't not expect anything fancy,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA few months ago I had purchased veg briyani from you for the first time, which was good. I thought to order is again a few weeks ago, when received the rice was hard and tasted burnt. Mind you this order was placed early in the morning. So I thought it might have just been an off day and I should order again. So last week Friday we went into your establishment for a sit down with family. The briyani was just the same, the rice tasted burnt and hard. The dhall is something else, so watered down and not really dhall tasting. The roti with the chicken tikka as well as your pack roti is horrible, was crumbly and stale. The mutton bunny received was dry and we asked for extra gravy. We did not take out any photos as we just ate up and left. The staff also seemed to be in...
