1-Star Review: Manager HLONI Refuses Basic Request - Inconsistent & Rude Service!

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this Starbucks location, all thanks to Manager HLONI's inflexible and dismissive attitude. While other Starbucks branches in South Africa happily allow customers to scan their Starbucks Rewards app while using FNB vouchers, this location-under HLONI's management-flat-out refused, offering no explanation or solution.

Why This Was Unacceptable:

Inconsistent Policies - Multiple other Starbucks locations in SA allow combining rewards and vouchers, so why is HLONI enforcing arbitrary rules?

Zero Customer Care - Instead of checking policies or offering alternatives, HLONI shut down my request with no effort to help.

Rude & Dismissive - A good manager finds solutions, but HLONI chose inflexibility over customer satisfaction.

If Starbucks rewards loyalty, why does HLONI punish customers for trying to use legitimate offers? This isn't just about a coffee-it's about respect. I'll take my money to cafes (or even other Starbucks) that actually appreciate their customers.

Chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. Fantastic place if you just want to pop in for a beverage and a sit down after a long day of shopping or just to get some work done. Plenty of comfortable seating and power points to keep your laptop charging. Don't expect to be able to take business calls in there as it gets quite noisy (not a drawback as that should be expected but just be aware of this). I easily spend 3 hours in there working. Would be nice if staff popped by to patrons sitting with laptops to check if they want to place an order as this can definitely boost sales and be a huge help because not many want to leave their devices lying around while they...

Even though there was a queue, the staff were smiling and helpful. Too be honest, there are very few Starbucks in busy areas anywhere in the world that you do not queue. Lovely decor for this store, ample seating places. Usual variety of Starbucks mugs and beans available. Would have loved more of the worldwide cakes/pastries to be available. The Starbucks Reserve area looked interesting, but the store was way too busy to check out that part, does not look like it was staffed.
