We visited the Madnomad by Kream on Friday evening. The restaurant is situated on level 5 inside Mall of Africa. We made a reservation and we were glad we did as the restaurant was quite busy that evening. We were welcomed by Boity, who also would be our waitress for the evening. The menus we were presented were fine, mine was messed with bread crumbs but hey it was still understandable. For starters we had the Sheep Head Soup and Lamb Cube and Mozzarella Pide. I will start with the Pide. Possible the best Pide I have ever tasted. Packed with cheese and an ample amount of lamb on a fluffy flat bread. Absolutely amazing. The Sheep Head Soup (1 of 3 reasons why we chose this restaurant) was a bit under seasoned and lacked the flavor. It was also warm when we received it and a bit congealed already, which meant it was standing at the pass for a while. It was ok with a bit of salt but not spicy at all, which is what was stated when ordering. For mains, we ordered the Lamb Stew and Sheep Head(2nd reason for visiting). The Lamb Stew, which was option 2 as option 1 (Our 3rd reason) the Lamb Sis Kebab, was sold out, was absolutely delicious. It did lack a bit of a kick but the tenderness of the lamb made up for the lack of heat. It was quite tasty. The Sheep Head was a bit unflattering, I swapped out the pap for mash. It was very tender and had been cooked for quite some time. But it was still quite tender and tasty. It could have done with a jus or gravy just to moisten it up a bit. Not bad though. For desert we shared a Kazandibi which is a caramelized milk pudding. It was not bad at all. I had a Nomad Cocktail, which was not bad but loaded with sugar. Many reviews have noted that service was an issue and I must say that it is. There are a number of servers but service is slow. We did call for the manager as we were told that desert would take 20 minutes as no one was available to dish it out by Boity. Volkan, the manager was really nice and in 2 minutes we received the desert. So besides the service, not a bad supper option for a treat and something different.

After walking around M.O.A for the first time, I remembered a new restaurant that has opened here. Love Turkish food, fresh flavours with spice. The restaurant is beautifully setup. Clean and modern. Love the decor. I was a bit confused on entry as we had someone to show us to our seat. Then someone to take our drinks order and another to take our food order. Quite a few options to choose from, but I decided on something light. The Adana kebab, which came with freshly cut fries (Spicy Lamb Minced Meat with Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Hummus and Tahini With Tzatziki Sauce Separate) I was expecting a bit more spice and a bit more meat inside the Shawarma. My sister had the stuffed Meatball and the Urfa kebab. Both tasted quite nice but not as spicy as we wanted it to be. Would love to come back and try a few more things and dessert. Instead of the usual sweets with the bill, we got Turkish delight. Another thing I liked is the bag stand they gave us to hang our bags next to us and not on the chairs or the floor. Nicely done. #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TFMMadNomad

Went for date night last night and we were pleasantly surprised by the quick and friendly service! something that really got me was how the second i wanted to put my bag down somewhere they brought me a rack to hang it! The servers pay close attention to each customer and visited our table often to refill our glasses and ask if we were good! The manager was super friendly and kind too. The food was great, however the portions of the baklava we received was quite comedically small LOL, but we had a laugh about it and we werent mad as R650 is a great deal for a bottle of sparkling wine, two starters, two mains and two deserts. The brownies were absolutely delicious, as was the truffle chicken pasta 🤤. I also knocked the table over accidentally and spilled all our drinks and the waiters were there within a millisecond to dry off my boyfriend and fix the table with a new table cloth within seconds. Absolutely WONDERFUL service and great food! Thank you for such an amazing experience, we will be returning! ❤️

Served food that was off/expired mince meat - spat out at the table ,it even smelled off.ill prepared kitchen staff disgusting over filled wrap with rotten adana kebab mince meat. Late bread and sauces after begging for bread (for point 3).I escalated this to the manager on duty, waiting for food made me hungry as a standard this usually comes out really fast. Second time there I must wait ages fir bread. 3.Re followed up with no status update by the ladies right beside us 3 times for the bread and condiments all five are chatting about next to me at the till register. Food arrived after 37 minutes for a restaurant not that busy. Unprofessional party vibes by staff on slow go chats on 1 February 12h55 was my experience. I still paid with a tip for this level of behaviour, rotten food and slow service. Manager did not apologize at the door turned the other way.

KREAM /Nomad first time disappointing and shocked to the core by this nonsensical type of treatment.

Description: waitress staff standing around a till point machine from a12h55 when a customer follows up almost 3 times next to them with no update - a joke!! Date: 1 February 2025: No bread no condiments menus left on the table for 20min.No food 30 min later wow adana kebab wrap and chicken chops wow must be frozen!

Food arrived 37min after I escalated to the manager on duty so thanks for that!

Chicken chops, 3 proper sized 1 half looking want to be chicken. Adana kebab wrap - didn't taste right it was either cooked too fast from a frozen batch or off - terrible and literally a spit out of my mouth.

So the kitchen was under prepared serving off food and late service. The waitresses were chatting about at the till register ignoring us sitting beside them.

What a joke! Nomad wake up, is this the standard of Kream? I still paid for the chicken chops after this awful service what a joke! And I was kind enough not to throw a tantrum and I still left a tip!

Only great thing on this day was the handover to the new waitor with the mask who was kind enough to apologize for the terrible experience and served us attentively, the waitresses should learn some manners from this waitor and HIS level of professional behaviour, kindness and courtesy atleast his not chatting about and working really hard even served the table next to us.

The manager on duty saw me leave and said not a single ounce of a sorry or hope to see yiu soon what type of unprofessional show are you running now Kream. First time disappointed and shocked by Nomad.

I've sent a mail to the admin address and followed up 1.5 weeks later no reply.

With frustration I emailed your montecasino and other branch requesting acknowledgement and follow up ...rude!

Please don't ask me to email if you not willing to deal with the...

My partner and I visited Mad Nomad tonight as our first place to eat after arriving from Cape Town.

We were extremely disappointed with the person who seated us (henceforth referred to as the "host"). We were first told to choose any place to sit by the host but both places we wanted to seat had unfortunately been reserved. She mentioned that she would check if they had been reserved while we temporarily sat near the kitchen area. We did not want to sit there but were happy to wait. The host came back a few moments later and said unfortunately both seats were reserved. It was weird though that the waiter instantly brought us bread as if it was the place we had chosen to seat. We stood up to move because were not happy to seat there with so much movement of people near the kitchen and we noticed the host making a face at the waiter as if to say we were being difficult.

We then asked if we could sit on a 3-seat / 4-seat table but were told that we can't seat there by the host because it was their policy to only seat couples in a 2-seat table. That was extremely odd for me coming from CT because the restaurant was relatively empty that night. And whenever that is the case you allow your guests to sit wherever they want to sit.

Anyway we sat where we were allocated, my partner ordered pasta and i ordered a shawarma. The pasta had too much salt and no other taste except from the cream, and my wife couldn't finish it. Meanwhile a person came on his own to the restaurant and was seated at a 3-seat table; I guess restaurant policy does not apply to "everyone" but applied to us.

The reason I am giving them a 3 star actually is because the manager came and apologised for the pasta and the seating issue. He did not charge us for the pasta but also brought my partner dessert. This I truly appreciated. If it weren't for his kindness, I would rate the place a 1 because the food was not great and honestly the host lacked customer service.

PS: I did confront the host about this and she didn't apologise for that. That was really...
