This was my favorite shop but I am so sad to say only until this morning. As usual I and my wife went to this shop for our monthly grocery shopping. All was great and normal until we met two trolley management guys who stood on our way and told us straight that the trolley will not cross that line. We were on our way t Checkers and the trolley was packed with groceries from Food Lovers. I asked the two guys if it was possible for one of them to accompany us until we can get to Checkers and offload to another trolley. The guys were definitely not willing to yield to a customer's request. I asked them what do they suggest, must we take the groceries back to the shop and they said yes we can take it back and ask for a refund if we want. That's exactly what we did as we were shocked to have met people with such attitude. We got back to the shop and asked to at least talk to the manager. One supervisor whom I saw her name as Desnique came and she just listened and called the Store manage. I greeted the store manager and introduced myself and my wife by I could see that he was not even interested as he didn't even greet and introduced himself. I made the same request to him and also informed him about the approach of the trolley guys. There was no sign of compassion from his side and he just said to me "can you imagine if I can have a trolley person escorting each and every customer". From here I could see that we were not one of those important customers here. We asked for a refund and he happily gave us our cash back. He chose to lose just over a thousand rands and a loyal customer today just for a trolley. I asked one of the cashiers what the store manager's name is and I was informed that it's Graeme. I am so sad really just for learning that there is such a treatment towards some customers. By the way some cashiers were also telling us that we are not the first to have received...

It was always a pleasure shopping at your store. But today I’ve received poor service at your business. Specifically, the service that I have received from a lady from the bakery. I was looking for assistance at the bakery as I wanted information on product, when someone finally came over , I greeted politely and asked where I could find the herb breads as it used to be in another section the last time I shopped there, the lady in the foodlovers uniform looked irritated and mumbled the bread has moved and is on the shelf behind you. Then she assisted another customer, I wanted the breads but had to wait a while again. Finally when I asked for assistance she looked irritated and then straight- faced looked at me , and without her asking I had to repeat myself , then she irritatingly said she don’t understand my language , I then repeated myself in English that I would like a few of the breads and I think they need price tags but she mumbled something I couldn’t make out and she went ahead helping the other customer.. I waited and without service I took the breads , put it in pockets added to my grocery basked and went to pay, but had to wait again at the till point for a while as the lady at the till point got price tags for it, the ladies at the till point was polite and apologised for the wait. However It was an unpleasant experience for me to shop today as I never came across this kind of behaviour from bakery section while the behavior of one member of the staff may not speak on behalf of the company, if you may be able to do so, kindly look into the behavior of this person to make sure that the incident does not happen again. On entering OMG, what a terrible first time in the store it was so packed, to full, no place to walk, no air, just to much I couldn't even be in that store another second, so we left took a walk around and then discovered a GEM of a place, The Market Cafè 👌👌?Sandra our waitress stunning person attended to us so beautifully, she's a gentle soul and we loved her warm hospitality, so we sit down I order a milkshake and my daughter a Savanna dry, we waited abit long for the drinks and our meals but I can't complain at all because it was so packed with guest and the whole we waiting we got to talk catch up on each other's lives and watch the massive queue of the food lovers store minimise by the time our drinks came it had reduced to like 50 customers in the queue but the delicious Strawberry milkshake just took my mind off the queue loved my milkshake best one yet, then here arrived our meals the best fish this side of town fresh and so tasty the price so well priced and I totally give the Market Café an 8 out of 10.
