Bikes are of terrible quality due to lack of maintenance. The chain is not oiled which makes the bike get stuck. One of our group almost fell do to the chain getting stuck which can cause an accident, he was lightly wounded though. In our case, they gave us a lock with the key in it, and we rolled it around the steer. Due to some rocky streets in sevilla the key fell out of the lock. We were then told afterwards that we should have placed the keys in our pockets. Very unfortunate situation, which we were willing to resolve keeping in mind that the bikes we rented were not in good shape as well.
Conclusion, they said that we should have placed the key in our pockets, and that the lock needs to be paid for. Regarding the lack of maintenance of the bikes, they did not wanted to do anything with this, they were not willing to compromise somewhere in the middle.
Ps. The bike with the chain that got stuck was rented out directly after I brought it back while informing them about the issue, so they just don't care.
Pricewise is also not that competitive, there are better alternatives. Look out!
Update on reaction: You did not instruct us upfront that we should keep the keys outside the locks, due to the bumpy roads in Sevilla. After we bring the bikes back you start to tell us that we should keep the keys out of the locks.
Aside from that, you do not provide any feedback on me informing you about the low maintenance of the bikes, this was the first issue to begin with. Just fix your bikes, and raise the rental price, riding those badly maintained bikes is...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed by our experience at Sevilla Bike Tour. My wife booked a tour for 4 adults and 2 children (7 and 9 years old) 5 days prior and specifically asked for bikes appropriate for the children’s ages.
Upon arriving on the day of the tour there were no suitable bikes for the children - too small, hand brakes didn’t work, and the gears wouldn’t function - the adult bikes were far from ideal and quite frankly seemed poorly maintained. The staff pushed us to use the children’s bikes but we refused as we deemed them unsafe.
After 20 minutes the shop received 2 children’s bikes from another location. Again both in poor condition. We elected to attempt the tour but after 10 minutes my son and I were forced to return to the shop as his bike was unrideable. We were refunded for the 2 bikes that we didn’t use but the staff assured me that my wife would receive a discount due to us being separated and the poor condition of my daughter’s bike including an inoperable gear shifter. No such discount was offered.
The shop has clearly seen better days and it’s apparent they no longer maintain their equipment.
Do yourself a favor and check their bikes before you...
Read moreWe enjoyed the “Sunset tour” so much. The guide was an authentic local, extremely friendly, funny and attentive. In a very complete and extensive tour, he led us through very special spots around Sevilla, telling us the story behind every one of them.
The bikes were in good condition and the service is quick and professional. The price is reasonable (25€/person for a 3h trip).
As downsides, I’d only point out the poor quality of the pictures taken with GoPro (with that device you rather make videos!). Furthermore, the route was at times bypassed through difficult roads, and cycling around crowded areas, both situations not suitable for unexperienced cyclists.
Thanks once more to the team of Sevilla Bike Tour for showing us a magic city in a very...
