It's about the apartment. We pay but they don't offer you what they promised in the paper or the website. It was irritating. No AC, no cleaning service, no key for each room and for bathroom but you have to share it with different gender. Also the person from school come inside the apartment suddenly without knocking, it's scary and surprising.
The cleaning service didn't come, at least, for 3 weeks, although they should do that once a week because when we book the room, this condition is clearly stated. I was there for 2 weeks but the first week, they did't cleaned or didn't come. And the girl that I shared the apartment was living there from one week before, and said that the common space was not cleaned. In my second week, I met a women of cleaning service, and that day it could clearly seen that the common area, -living room, kitchen, bathroom- were cleaned.
And about AC. We had that but they prohibited me using it saying the neighbours were annoyed because of the falling water from the balcony. Why didn't they take a measure for that in advance??? The girl I mentioned told me that we had to put a bucket not to fall the water from the AC and had to throw it to the sink in the kitchen. So I did that. But the neighbours continued complaining about the water that was NOT from us. And then the school prohibited us using AC. The school had to take measure, not prohibiting using it, because we payed for AC and a cleaning service. It was the day that marked 42 degree and 48 at the airport. Also, they lied to me when they prohibited using AC saying it was broken because of a bad connection to the electricity. It wasn't broken.
They think that we can't understand their Spanish and maybe look down on or play with us, but i was in the C1 class and I noticed that they were lying because it wasn't reasonable. Maybe this is the biggest reason that I felt so sad by this experience. They don't treat us with respect. The women came to the apartment said "está prohibido usarlo". Why they can do that? The falling water isn't our fault, their fault. Normally we don't have to threw water by hand. And we did that. Also, the neighbours did complain about it when the AC didn't work. Nonsense.
It's really sad because the school itself was good, good teachers, but the apartment and its management was terrible. Don't worth paying for it, or, could destroy your experience and your stay. Recommend reserving your accommodation not...
Read moreI recently attended Españolé IH Valencia for 5 Weeks and had an incredible experience. First I was worried that because I am in my late 20s I would feel uncomfortable. This was not the case, the classes are mixed and you will find at least 1 person in the class who is older than 30.
The school is located in a beautiful historic building, and the classrooms are modern and well air-conditioned. The quality of the Spanish classes was outstanding, with exceptional teachers like Javier R., Iris T. H., Rebecca R., and María José A. P. They not only provided excellent traditional lessons but also did a fantastic job of immersing us in Spanish culture.
For one week I stayed in a shared apartment and for four weeks with a wonderful host family who integrated me into their daily life, significantly boosting my language skills. If I needed assistance with administrative belongings or accommodation, Marta and Conny at the school reception were always there, ensuring that students were well taken care of.
The school activities were another highlight of my stay. Sofia did a fantastic job organizing trips to amazing places outside the city, such as Peñiscola, Calpe, Altea, and Montanejos. With Nicole I got to know la Ciudad de Valencia and some of its history and Street Art as well.
I can highly recommend Españolé IH Valencia. Many students I met were there for the second or third time, which underlines the quality...
