I was “kicked out” yesterday because I had brought in a packaged salad with me (inside a plastic bag), which I just had purchased at a grocery store and didn’t manage to bring to my home before going to the bar. It was just there; no one was touching it because we were actually planning to eat there. However when I wanted to order food the lady (in suuuuch a rude way) told me that the salad can not stay in the restaurant because then they would lose their license. I told her that it is closed and that I am not gonna consume it but she didn’t care and really talked to me in a super disrespectful way. Even though I didn’t even try to discuss, she got even ruder which is why I left immediately and went to the bar next door (Stortorget) where the staff was so much friendlier and no one cared about my packaged salad that I was not even eating. Been going here for years and its my favourite place for a beer in town. The food used to be good but has since then declined rapidly. They really should get better chefs! Ordered a burger and it was raw inside, the meat tasted old and the bun was dry. We sent it back immediately as it was inedible. We unfortunately had to pay for it which was a real shock as we are very frequent customers. Says a lot about management of this place! I am John Scott fan. They have pub quiz evenings that you can attend, and if you are in the mood for questions on any other night then there is also well used Trivial Pursuit (in swedish) game there to be played.

John Scott has a large variety of beer and drinks served from behind the bar, though I personally wish they would add some more Ciders to their repertoire. The food is good, bordering on great depending on the dish. Their Shrimp Sandwich is really nice.

I enjoy coming for a quick pint after work with my girlfriend and a round of trivial pursuit to use the brain cells we have before the pint...
