Such a poor airline (if they can be called that). A truly horrible experience.
On leaving Zanzibar they kept telling us boarding was at 1730 but the departure time is 1730 on the boarding pass... They kept.telling us to wait, so I went to the bathroom... When I returned, they're running around Iike headless chickens trying to herd us on the plane, I'm surprised they didn't start whipping us. Really annoying when they make you wait without explanation but as soon as they say go you're expected to become Usain Bolt and get seated on the plane inside of 30 seconds.
The plane... Utter filth, the bathroom was unusable, the seats were covered in dust, the blinds had all sorts of debris on them. Old plane in poor condition. I'm surprised it was capable of staying in the sky.
Landed at Arusha no communication, despite our flight being to elsewhere... Turns out you stay on the plane and go through it all again.
The landing in Seronera was a joke, so rough.
Oh, forgot to mention that the steward pushed his cart up the aisle and rather than ask me to move just rammed it into my shoulder.
The return flight was from Arusha, boarded quickly and easily enough although we were given a different flight number to our booking and it didn't appear on the departure boards at all...
The plane was, yet again, in a disgusting state and barely flight worthy. The stewardess this time, fell asleep in her chair and had earphones in... But in the West, we see cabin crew being dismissed/disciplined for inappropriate behaviour like this.
If I never fly with these cowboys again it'll...

As salaam air sold us tickets for +USD1,400 to fly from Zanzibar to Seronera (Serengeti), but we finally learnt on the very day that the flight had never been scheduled in the first place. They never wrote to us while they knew in advance, and made us come with young children and babies at 5am at Zanzibar airport. They told us that instead of our direct flight we would connect to Seronera via Arusha with Flightlink, but once in Arusha there was no connecting flight for Seronera... As a result we spent the day at Arusha airport instead of doing safari in Serengeti. If they told us in advance or at least did not lie repeatedly to our face at Zanzibar airport, we could have flown to Seronera with another company instead. It will cost you greatly to book with them, safari is expensive and...
Read moreAbsolutely scammer company. They change the flight departure too many times. We have a flight from Arusha to Zanzibar planned for departure at 17:45, later they changed it at 16:40, and at the day of the flight it has changed again for 15:00 pm, and so If we wanted to go back to Zanzibar we have to cut our day for safari by half. Complete idiots, and the problems is that safari companies choose them to work with. PLEASE DONT DO THAT ! Forget about this company let...
