Lung Ja Seafood — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

It's reputation is not really backed up by the reality. It's a typical seafood eatery for Hua Hin but nothing about it is outstanding. The seafood is all fresh, which it should be, so nothing special there. The beer was cold, which I guess is sort of special for Thailand. The staff are quick at getting your order but we didn't get all the dishes we ordered until we reminded them of it. No apology offered. The food was nice enough but all the delicate flavours of scallops, prawns and rock lobster are lost amongst all the typically strong Thai spices. That's not the fault of the cooks, who are, without argument, great at what they do and hard working, but you should know that "delicate" or "subtly spiced" this food is not. Since this place has great reviews & featured on food blogger par excellence - Mark Wiens vids, specially came here for Dinner - the market it is in was hot & crowded although we got a table soon.

Went for a lobster that came in at 7 - 800 grams & ordered BBQ squid in garlic or something & crab rice.

I'd asked for the lobster to be made 'thai style' instead of the 4 sauces goop I saw on other tables but sadly it came out overdone & rubbery, bland & difficult to peel off, the squid was bland, the crab rice was superb tho & so were the accompanying sauces.

Overall disappointed after the build up, the best lobster ive had continues to be at Bentota in Sri Lanka.

We had a nice dinner here with their specialty lobster grilled with 4 different sauces plus an extra free stir-fried morning glory as a package. The lobster was yummy and fresh but if we knew beforehand, we probably will only choose the basic grill style either with butter or black-pepper sauce since the other two sauces were not that good. This is casual restaurant and cash payment only so there should not be high service level expectation. The price level is reasonable / average value.
