While exploring Istanbul during Ramadan, my wife and I stumbled upon Golden Shish Doner & Cag Kabab just in time for Iftaar—and what an unforgettable experience it was! From the very first bite to the last, everything was close to perfection.

The Iskender Kebab was the absolute highlight—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the yogurt and tomato-based sauce. Honestly, it might just be the best Iskender I’ve ever had. The meats were grilled to perfection, tender on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside, just how it should be.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and made the experience even better with their hospitality and quick service. The overall ambiance felt authentic, adding to the charm of the meal.

Excellent place, excellent food and above all friendliest service I have experienced for a week in Istanbul. The waiters run around constantly serving all with a permanent smile on the face.

On the 6th day of having eaten here everyday, I just want to again commend the friendliness and welcome of the staff and quality, freshness and taste of the food. Moreover, as vegetarians we have been very well accommodated by the staff, offering us a good choice of food. Of course, not having tasted the meat items I cannot comment on the same BUT having SEEN them and the empty plates going back to the kitchen and especially judging by the number of locals eating here, I would certainly conclude that the meat must be equally tasty. All the staff were very nice to us but I would still like to give a 6 star to Ekim. He is a sweet and warm guy who waited on us with swift efficiency and a perpetual pleasant smile. I know one can always find some shortcoming when visiting a place as a tourist especially in restaurants. Yet if we go by the millions of tourists who flock to Istanbul every year, attending to the wishes and sometimes whims of some like us 😃 I can safely and whole heartedly recommend this place.
