Turkish bath in istanbul — Local services in Beyoğlu

I decided to go after seeing all those 5-star reviews however my experience was disappointing. I was not given what I was promised with the hammam plus package, besides there were tiny details that made the experience less pleasant than it should’ve been. It costed 60€ and included sauna, 30 min relaxing massage, 15 min scrub and 15 min foam massage. First, they just let us stay 3 minutes in the sauna. Then they took me into the massage cabin, however they are not soundproof so I was able to listen to all the noise going around the swimming pool area. I couldn’t even hear the relaxing music the cabin was playing. Also my cabin door was knocked 3 times by some other staff member to talk to my masseuse. At some point they left the door open; mind you, that I was basically naked and there were men just outside hanging out by the pool. So even though the masseuse and the massage was good, I couldn’t relax with all the things that were going on.

Then the hammam: the room is very nice however, again the same “open door issue”; the girl asked me to remove my towel and the hammam door was still open with men outside. The hammam was meant to last 30min (15 min of scrub and 15 min foam massage), however it wasn’t longer that 10 minutes in total, definitely no foam massage for me. The girl only applied shampoo, not conditioner. And finally applied a face mask and told me to sit in a chair without further instructions. After 10-15mins, my friend went to the reception to ask for instructions, and they said we should remove the mask by ourselves and leave. From my experience I don’t recommend you to go...

I had an amazing experience at this hamam, truly one of the best ways to unwind and treat yourself. From the moment you walk in, the staff are welcoming and guide you through each step of the experience, so even if it’s your first time, you’ll feel comfortable right away.

It starts with a warm welcome and a complimentary hot drink. I highly recommend trying the herbal tea. It has a unique and soothing flavor that sets the tone for what’s to come. After that, you’re taken through a sequence of relaxation: first the sauna, then the steam room. Both are well-maintained, clean, and create the perfect atmosphere to start disconnecting from the outside world.

No need to worry about bringing your own gear, they provide everything you need, including disposable shorts, slippers, and towels, which makes the whole process easy and stress-free.

Then comes the highlight… the hamam itself. If you’ve never experienced one before, you’re in for a real treat. The space is beautiful and calming, and the treatment is both invigorating and deeply relaxing. The exfoliation and cleansing process leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed.

To top it all off, I had a full-body massage that was incredibly relaxing, the perfect way to end the session. I left feeling completely rejuvenated.
