Visiting the Stevi Stefan Church was an unforgettable experience that beautifully blends history, culture, and spirituality. From the moment you approach, the church's striking architecture captures your attention. The intricate designs and the unique iron structure make it stand out as a truly remarkable piece of craftsmanship. Walking through its doors, you immediately feel the serene and sacred atmosphere that envelops this historic site. Inside, the beauty of the church continues to impress. The detailed icons and frescoes are awe-inspiring, each telling a story that spans centuries. The craftsmanship and artistry evident in every corner reflect the deep devotion and care that have gone into maintaining this magnificent church. It’s a perfect place for reflection and admiration, whether you are religious or simply appreciate historical art and architecture. The church grounds add to the overall experience, offering a peaceful and contemplative space. The surrounding gardens are well-kept and provide a lovely setting for a quiet walk or a moment of meditation. The staff and volunteers were exceptionally friendly and informative, sharing the rich history and cultural significance of Stevi Stefan Church with genuine passion. Their warm hospitality made the visit even more special. One of the most memorable aspects of my visit was the sense of community and continuity that pervades the church. Attending a service there was deeply moving, highlighting the enduring traditions and spiritual depth of this sacred place. Whether you’re there to worship, learn about history, or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility, Stevi Stefan Church is a must-visit. It’s a true gem that offers a profound and enriching experience to all who...

It is one of the best churches in Turkey. You can see the amazing details out side of the church. It was builded with iron by istefanaki bey so that is distinguishing feature from other churches in the world. construction of the chruch was started in 1859 and ended 1896.

It is a bulgarian orthodox church.

The location of it is in Balat. You can reach there from eminonu with T5 tramway in 15 mins. It located between balat and fener station but it is very close to balat station. Only 5 mins walking is enough to go there. If you want to go from sisli / mecidiyekoy or taksim, you can use m2 metro to go halic station after there you can walk to kucukpazar station to take t5 metro. If you want to go from kadikoy, you can use metrobus to ayvansaray station after there you can use the t5 tramway to eminonu side.

The location is very nice, you can see golden horn or you can go to balat district to see colourful houses or authentic cafe restaurants or streets. So it will be worth to go there.

Dont forget to visit upstairs also. There is downstairs too but unfortunately it is closed...

Beautiful church to visit when in Balat! It's famous in Istanbul because it's made of cast iron. Don't miss the explanation written on the door when entering to understand its full history.
