Such a great urban resort! We made bad choices booking some other hotel in the city center so we had to search immediately for alternative. So we found Rixos Tersane and once we relocated - once we were greeted at the entrance, were helped with lugguage inside the hotel and host lady assisted us to the reception and later to the room we felt relieved, at ease and finally on vacation. Cool interior design, a lot of art work smartly added into the ambience, book library (oh i was sold on that point) and then we entered a room. Such a bliss! Spacious, large. Wooden floors, fully stoned washrooms, Etro wonderfully perfumed amenities, super soft bathrobes which u can purchase on reception. Bed was nice and big enough, great linen. Mini-bar had all amenities and Godiva chocolates. Service i enjoyed also. At the hotel entrance we were greeted first by adorable Mr Kelontang, (so sorry if spelling is wrong) he had fancy hat and super courtesy manners of a real hospitality professional. He made sure when we were leaving that the right car from Uber has arrived, so we dont come out extra times coz weather was cold and windy. This makes it all. Great service and attentive personnel! Also, at checkout was great to deal with Emirkan, he was recently promoted to team superior, gave as super smooth check out experience, settled our complex bill with cash and card effortlessly and without any hustle and bustle . Also not to forget amazing gym. Guys, if you hitting gym on regular basis and dont want to skip on your vacation - rixos tersane is a great option: Resistance machine, Abductors, 5 running tread mils, all weights of dumbbells ans so much more. -1 floor, in front of the spa. (Just shown all above to my husband - he told me make it concise, chronological and easier to read - if you’ve read until here and agree with him - like this review so i try better next time) So from touristic point of view Hotel is located relatively far from Taksim and Istiklal, so discuss beforehand with the taxi driver. We took couple of times taxi from Galata Tower to hotel - around 400 TYR (at the time of this review). Bitaski or uber works just fine, also u can hail a taxi from The curbside - no problem. Which is approx 10 usd. Without traffic (at night) 10-15 min, with traffic 30-45. Also, in separate review i ll highlight beautiful view of Josephine restaurants and share link here It was our second time in Istanbul together. Was great, quiet, fun, aesthetically pleasing. As Rixos’s web-site says, reciting: “Located in the heart of the Golden Horn, Rixos Tersane Istanbul elevates guest experiences and service excellence to the next level, offering unique experiences under the concept of an urban resort. Dedicated to redefining Istanbul's lifestyle scene, Rixos Tersane Istanbul positions itself as an urban hotspot and lifestyle hub, boasting a panoramic view of the Golden Horn. Situated in the historic Tersane district of the Golden Horn, Rixos Tersane Istanbul blends modern grandeur with the rich heritage of 600-year-old shipyards.” Yours, local Guide Katerina p.s. if my review had entertained you, helped you to make great choice foe your trip - please support me. I stayed at this hotel for a conference. While the room design and interior were truly excellent - stylish and comfortable - unfortunately, that was the only highlight of my stay. The problems started at check-in. I had booked a room for three people, for my wife and her friend scheduled to arrive a day after me. I had informed the hotel about this both via email after booking and again at the reception during my check-in. I also paid for the extra bed in advance. However, when they arrived, they were not allowed to check in without my confirmation - despite all the prior communication. I had to leave my conference and go to the reception in person to resolve it. On top of that, the staff didn’t provide any proper onboarding or orientation for them, and they had to wait around 40 minutes to receive an extra set of towels and have the additional bed delivered. The restaurant service was extremely disappointing - easily the worst I’ve experienced in a 5-star hotel. The food was mediocre at best, and shockingly overpriced. Main courses ranged from €50–70, which might be acceptable in a top-tier restaurant, but this clearly wasn’t one. I tried the onion soup, which was nothing like a traditional French onion soup - it was just bad. The Bolognese was okay, but definitely not worth the price. Service was disorganized and inattentive. For example, we were a party of three who ordered a bottle of wine, and the waiter inexplicably poured wine into only one glass, leaving the others empty. And for example we waited 15 min for Corona beer and then we waited 5 more min for a lime(however I stated explicitly to serve it with lime). We also had a frustrating experience with booking a private transfer to the airport through the hotel. The quoted price was €350 - completely unreasonable. When I expressed my concern and said I knew this was kind of a scam (having visited Istanbul several times), they then offered an Uber for €60(I didn’t get it was an Uber because I could have easily arranged a bit better option myself for a same or a bit higher price) The location is also quite inconvenient - far from most attractions. I was aware of this in advance, so I’m not deducting stars for it. I debated between giving 2 or 3 stars, but in the interest of being fair, I’m giving it 3 stars. TL;DR: Amazing design and interior, but the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a hotel.

I stayed at Rixos Tersane Hotel for four nights with my mom and sister, and let’s just say… it was giving five-star looks, three-star effort, and one-star location. We asked to upgrade to a sea view room because We wanted to romanticize life and ended up waiting 30 minutes at reception while they sorted it out like it was a high-stakes international negotiation. And the price? Astronomical. We moved up one floor, and apparently that floor has gold-plated air or something. Honestly, for that kind of markup, I expected dolphins to wave at us from the sea. The room? Stylish. Comfortable. Very “hotel influencer-core.” But also so dim. I legit had to use my phone flashlight to see inside my suitcase. Now to be fair the food was fantastic. Breakfast and brunch were both delicious and well presented. Someone in the kitchen really knows what they’re doing. But warning: unless you enjoy paying luxury prices for orange juice, bring snacks. The food is great, the bill is greater. Now, here’s where it gets spicy: the staff overall were… meh. Most were polite but distant, like they were trained in “robot chic.” There was zero warmth. Except for Belis. Belis is an actual ray of light. She helped us during breakfast, and she was one of the very few people who made us feel like guests, not walking ATM machines. Honestly, Belis should go work somewhere better, where they actually value charm, professionalism, and basic human connection. She’s wasting her talents trying to make up for everyone else. The location? Woof. It’s far from all the fun stuff in Istanbul, so you’re stuck taking taxis everywhere and the traffic is no joke. Check-out was just as clunky as check-in. They forgot about our deposit and had to dig through their system to find it. So… would I stay again? No. Would I recommend it for families? Also no. If you’re into moody rooms, expensive eggs, and the thrill of hotel roulette, sure, give it a shot. But if you value genuine service, good location, and functional lighting, there are better options out there.

We stayed with my kids family 18 days in Rixos tersane hotel , our rooms were exclusive suits was having amazing wiev comfortable beds furniture etc.but only missing was cleaning service and water floating each day ,and electricity problems, they were recovering the situation after 6 7 hours that we can’t use the room we were communicating thru batlers or reception or housekeeping but no response!after I talked to hotel manager Mr Ahmet ,last water floating that time they act faster and upgrade us to dublex was again same wiev amazing room but so dirty everywhere gray dust covered even the pretty couch we r sitting makes us as we r having flue from dust smell ,in the shower our foots was getting black oil feeling dirt and our head of butler said he takes care everything watched over housekeeping etc,but the kitchen cups bathrooms was really was dirty all this amazing room but dirt was disturbing after some days Fatma kul hanım they hired for our room she takes care of cleaning and than it becomes better , but|Having cubs in the room was really challenging we were having professional coffee machine ice machine etc big kitchen but no cups before last day of us the provide us around 20cups while it was hard to have 4 cups in the same time even what we bought housekeepers collected them ,| Filipino lady from housekeeping we asked that we need them to clean the floor and bathroom better pls ,she said we never mop the floor some vacuuming she could do when I said how come she asked her manager and the manager provide her the dirtiest floor mop ever; she brought it ,suddenly very bad smell surrounds the room I said better u don’t clean we keep it as it’s better , while I’m brushing my teeth she came inside beside me other sink she decided to wash that extra dirty huge mop in a tiny sing over my perfumes creams everywhere towels etc gets dirty water ,and how come to wash that in a normal sink !she said her manager told her to do that ,or in the shower to wash it she been told, bec they don’t have mop washing bottle or else place she said !!rather than this u can’t have room cleaning in the morning should be end of the day ,and in the room u have no privacy literally everyone has the room key card they can enter as they want ,even u r in the room with ur towel or while u r dressing u can find many employees appears in ur private room, they ring 1 time or knock after one time they never ever waited till u open !even u put on do not disturb sign it doesn’t matter don’t disturb sign has no meaning !!|The laundry lady came to my room suddenly and I was very near to the door she ring and enter in the same time i said she should wait till open and she said only one ring and enter their rule !! The Rixos is absolutely beautiful but I would never stay there again. My experience at the hotel was intolerable. I stayed for 4 nights as part of my business trip. The hotel was the venue of the Summit I was attending . First of all, staff members do not know where each event is taking place so it was a bit of a hiatus to find where i needed to go to.

For the days and nights I stayed there, the DND light was on the whole time. Yet, when i would ask for water or a set of clean mugs, room service (woman) would knock once and immediately use her card which bypasses the door lock. Yes… as a single muslim woman abroad, I did lock the door all the time but it was useless.

This happened again on my third night. I let it go, even though it disturbed me. I said to myself they’re just extra friendly.

On my fourth night, it wasn’t a lady who would storm in after knocking once and announcing that it was room service, it was a man… I was in my pajamas and before i could leave the bed, I saw the door swing open and so i screamed to close the door and then he did. By the time I got to the door, the lady who was with him took the card off of him and invited herself in despite me asking her not to.

I wish I could stop here.

On my fourth night, I went to have dinner at Jelena, the restuarant downstairs, and the man who billed me, billed me for a pricier item than the one i had actually ordered, charging me an extra 600 Turkish Liras. I did point it out, but the man told me that “you enjoyed it, so it shouldn’t be a problem”. When I spoke to the reception later that evening, they managed to bring back in cash 600 Turkish liras to my room.

On the 5th day (yesterday) - which is when i had to check out, I could not find my ID. I requested a late check out which the lady at the reception has rejected (rightfully so), despite telling her and her colleagues the situation and my dire need for that late check out. The lady at the reception kept pestering me despite communicating my issue, by calling me then she proceeded by sending the bell boy to my room to pick up my luggage. He literally used his master-card and welcomed himself inside the room and asked where my luggage was and waited for me to leave (thank god he didn’t come 3 minutes earlier when I was using the bathroom). I told him I am still looking for my ID and he just waited, watching me while i searched. I felt extremely uncomfortable that essentially a stranger was in a room with me and so i kindly asked him to leave.

Long story short, I ran to the restuarant as a last resort to see if it was there, and I thankfully found it - despite the hotel reception telling me multiple times that nothing has been found. (Side note, if they checked diligently, I would have left at a much earlier time). When i returned to my room to finally close up my handbag and leave, I found the bell boy exiting my room and walking past me. I confronted him and asked him what he was doing in my room, and he was blank and said the reception asked him to come in.

The room is gorgeous but I would never stay there again. It is really troubling to know that this is the service of a 5 star hotel. The customer service manager was really nice but I was running late for my flight and so I could not convey the full picture of what i have endured.

Many members of the staff did not feel like staff members but authorized intruders.

Sorry Rixos but...

Guys, if you hitting gym on regular basis and dont want to skip on your vacation - rixos tersane is a great option:

Resistance machine, Abductors, 5 running tread mils, all weights of dumbbells ans so much more. -1 floor, in front of the spa.

(Just shown all above to my husband - he told me make it concise, chronological and easier to read - if you’ve read until here and agree with him - like this review so i try better next time)

So from touristic point of view Hotel is located relatively far from Taksim and Istiklal, so discuss beforehand with the taxi driver.

Also, in separate review i ll highlight beautiful view of Josephine restaurants and share link here

It was our second time in Istanbul together. Was great, quiet, fun, aesthetically pleasing.

As Rixos’s web-site says, reciting:

“Located in the heart of the Golden Horn, Rixos Tersane Istanbul elevates guest experiences and service excellence to the next level, offering unique experiences under the concept of an urban resort. Dedicated to redefining Istanbul's lifestyle scene, Rixos Tersane Istanbul positions itself as an urban hotspot and lifestyle hub, boasting a panoramic view of the Golden Horn. Situated in the historic Tersane district of the Golden Horn, Rixos Tersane Istanbul blends modern grandeur with the rich heritage of 600-year-old shipyards.”
