I loved Lotus Hotel in Istanbul so much! It's a bit out of the way which I liked. It was in a quiet area, yet still close enough to the Old Town. Depending on where you want to go, it might take about an hour to walk (I did walk a couple of times). Or you can catch the tram, or buses – the stops are nearby.
My room was very spacious. It had a double bed + a single one that went unused. I found the bed to be comfortable.
Wifi was excellent. It was one of my requirements as I needed to join some online meetings late at night. I read a lot of reviews for different hotels and weak, or non-existent wifi seemed to be a bit of a theme. Won't have to worry about that at Lotus Hotel.
I liked the homely feeling of the hotel. It really felt like coming home. The owners were incredibly lovely and friendly. Always had a little chat with me when coming and going. Gave recommendations, made some excellent tea, and even gifted me a fridge magnet when leaving which I happen to collect :) I'm embarrassed to say I've forgotten their names (I knew I should have written it down), but the gentleman even walked me to the tram station when I left for the airport. And he helped carry my heavy suitcase up and down the stairs.
My favourite part, though – they have cats and dogs! Loved giving belly rubs when the pets were in the reception area when I passed through. Sometimes they were out for a walk.
All in all, I had a fantastic experience staying at Lotus Hotel. Would definitely stay there again, and would also...
Read moreI booked the hotel for 4 nights online knowing that its close to everything and safe. me, my mom and sister arrived for a vacation first time in Istanbul and were shocked of the location the hotel. The taxi driver went lost and found it hard to find the hotel in the area full of men staring at you while crossing the street. we entered the hotel and the smell of the reception was fish!! we wanted to see the rooms but were informed that there is no elevator in this hotel.. my mom has a medical problem with her legs so she can't get upstairs by herself and we didn't feel safe in the neighborhood so we passed on checking in and we asked for help from the hotel workers. ||the workers were lovely and nice to us at first. they helped us finding another hotel, gave us the WiFi password and let me use their WC. the manager promised me not to charge my credit card for the booking and said he would send me a cancellation email at night.||I never got an email cancelation and when I got back of my vacation in Istanbul I was surprised to find out that I've been charged for 34$ by this hotel. when I tried to reach them and ask for explanation, they just ignored my message. be aware of this hotel service. I wouldn't recommend anyone to book in this hotel. don't let the photos and the...
Read moreAmazing customer service. The 2 people (lady and a gentleman) who worked front desk when I arrived was so kind and friendly. I had been scammed by a hotel on arrival to istanbul (divas hotel took my money and refused to give me a room) So I found this hotel and I am so glad I did because I did not feel targeted or price increases because of my nationality. I was greeted by a beautiful doggy which was a great surprise I was given a whats app to contact the staff if I need any help or advice and was made to feel very comfortable here and welcomed. Turkish hospitaly forsure.
The building isn't brand new and it is a bit of an older building but for the price the location and the amazing customer service I can't complain at all.
People should not expect the Ritz Carlton from smaller hotels like this because it's just not feasible but what you can expect and will be given at the lotus hotel is respect and hospitality to the highest degree from my experience so far.
I didn't have high expectations because of the price but whatever expectations I did have were blown out the water because of the hospitality here.
Thank you and will stay again forsure and would recommend for anyone who doesn't need to be dead center in the tourist area.
Very quiet at...
