Several days ago I purchased a glass house (glass sides, stone-type removable roof) to house candles from Blue Homeware. At home when I unpacked the pieces I noticed that two of the corners were damaged. I telephoned the shop and explained the situation and was asked to take some photographs and email them to the shop, which I did. The email I received back was short and to the point informing me that the roof was not damaged but was of a rough finish and was the nature of the design and therefore I was not entitled to a refund. I understand what a rough finish means but don't expect it to apply to the practical part of something i.e. the corners which need to fit correctly. Additionally, the cost of item was £79.95 and I would expect something to be of better quality for this price. This was a great disappointment when I returned a top I bought for £139.00, after finding it didn't travel well; after only two hours in a bag it was crumpled and creased, yet in the shop it looked fabulous, having been steamed. The lady offered to steam it again for me, but I did point out that wouldn't solve the problem of it being of unacceptable quality and I didn't have time to shop / didn't want a credit note. However, of course, I had to accept the credit note for another day but I will be EXTREMELY careful when choosing another item. Check the material type / quality and BEWARE THE RETURNS POLICY WHICH THEY DO NOT MENTION AT TIME...
Read moreI have shopped at Blue for as long as I can remember. It is not just a clothing store but an art gallery of quirky, unusual clothes that has helped me express the person I am. It is a contemporary space which allows freedom to browse easily. The staff are always unbelievably helpful and know exactly when to help and when to leave you to soak up the wonderful clothes. If you visit Bath it would be a crime if you did not visit 'The Loft'. The coffee is the best in town and the furniture matches the clothes in its taste.
