Ashley Fish Bar — Local services in Bristol

This guy has definitely upped his game! Went in today for the first time in a year or so and the batter on the fish was perfection - light, crispy with minimal greasiness. Couldn't be better. Chips are good too. Better than bishopston fish bar, which is good but always has bigger waits/queues. Will be returning regularly if he can keep this standard up.

December 2016 update: still brilliant. Now officially my favourite chippy. He was closed the other day so went to bish. fish bar; awful experience. Anaemic chips and small fish. I'm regularly disappointed by other chippies in the area and hadn't tried this place in years. So...one fish and chips ordered and eaten...brilliant. Portion size relatively small but actually plenty enough. Best of all, the chips were actually well cooked to a decent colour and crispiness. Fish was freshly cooked and equally good. I've been recommending to friends and will defo be making it my new regular. Other chips shops could learn from this...

Expensive and incredibly small portion for what should have been a portion of large chips - definitely not worth £4.50. Chips seemed dry.
