Terrible experience with this company and would give 0 stars if I could. Purchased a perfume sample which I loved, and went on to buy the full size in November 2024. The perfume arrived defective with a completely different smell and a silty, cloudy debris inside (video for reference). Raised the issue with the store on December 4th and asked for a new bottle or a refund. On December 9th I was told they would investigate with their supplier, which seemed reasonable at the time. I hadn’t heard anything so followed up twice with no response either time. I was told on December 27th that the whole store had a flu and would come back to me as soon as they had an update from their supplier. Another month goes by and no further update, despite sending them 4 emails in the four weeks that went by. I finally got an email on the 24th of January saying they couldn’t determine anything wrong with the batch but would accept a return and refund on this occasion. I returned the perfume which arrived back on 29th January and have heard nothing back from the store about them receiving the perfume or processing the refund, despite a further 3 follow ups. This whole experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth. It’s ridiculous this is still going on 3 months after the actual purchase with no resolve. I don’t recommend this business to anyone. The loss of money is bad enough and my only recourse now is to try and investigate with my bank, but the lack of communication throughout this entire process has been so frustrating and disappointing, and a complete waste of my time. My girlfriend really loves this store, so I ordered few things for her for christmas. The ordered shipped super fast, and arrived to Spain super quick. The owner really knows her stuff when it comes to shipping to Spain, and made sure to get all the customs information for me to ensure my package arrived in time for Christmas. She was also super friendly, which made the shopping experience even better. Absolutely wonderful experience with Bristol General Store! Beth kindly ordered me in a specific size and colouring of the MEALS trousers and jacket from LA, and promptly created me an invoice for me to privately purchase. Phenomenal (and patient!) customer service- answered all my questions about sizing and online ordering. So especially grateful since this is the ONLY store in the UK that sells MEALS.
