**A Hidden Gem That Feels Like a European Getaway** If you're looking for a truly unique cafĂ© experience, this hidden gem is an absolute must-visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality—not just from the owner, but from the regulars as well. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve been coming for years, even on your first visit. The interior is a visual treat. A cool retro vibe meets urban skate culture, with skateboards adorning the walls and vintage touches that make the whole space feel effortlessly stylish and inviting. Now, onto the food—wow. The baguettes were prepared with real craftsmanship and tasted just as amazing as they looked. Fresh, flavorful, and professionally done. While we didn’t try the cakes (it was a bit early for sweets), they looked absolutely divine in the display. The iced lattes were the real showstopper. Served in a stylish jug with glasses on the side, you get to pour your own perfect amount—such a clever and fun concept that adds a little ritual to your coffee break. And did I mention the prices? Completely unbeatable for the quality and experience you’re getting. This is not just any cafĂ©. It’s a five-star experience that rivals boutique cafĂ©s in Europe. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and drop by. You’ll leave planning your next visit before you even finish your drink. We paid ÂŁ9.50 for our beverages and baguettes!! Thank you Mike for the amazing hospitality service!

First time visiting today (literally half an hour ago)! Lovely little place, walked past so many times, easy to miss but remembered it looked very cosy from the outside so finally visited. Cosy yes it was! Gorgeous dark/cosy/artsy decor, lovely little window booths and rooms that go right out to the back! I can't comment on food, but saw all the sandwiches were sold out, so that must be a good sign. My mocha was gorgeous! So rich and chocolatey, just as I like it. The owner was fab too! Great conversation about chilli (he has a lot of sauces!) and gherkins! I shall definitely be returning for a chilli hot chocolate and the window book nook soon!

I agree with the other reviewers -- this place is great, the coffee, cakes, teas and the owner are all superb. It's an ideal place to sit and chill. They have a good selection of books around the place and we were allowed to help ourselves. "And don't feel the need to bring them back," said the owner, "people keep bringing us more." The owner is a Geordie and maybe this is what makes him so friendly and helpful. After we left he came after us down the street, waving my phone and my friends charger in the air. How many cafe owners would do that?

In addition to my previous review, where I mentioned that Mike and Arlene were forever chasing after me with items I had left behind (mainly hand sanitizer but once, a "Get Well" card for my uncle who had had a fall and broken a few ribs), I have just read the review from a customer who said Mike ran up the road after them with their phone and charger. I appreciated Mike and Arlene's actions so much that one year I gave them a Christmas card and Arlene kindly gave me a card from herself and Mike. My friend was passing outside the cafe once and picked up some keys which had been dropped on the floor. He took them in and handed them to Mike, who gave him a free drink as the card machine was out of action. ...

Feels like the only place left on north street that hasn't been gentrified and feels genuine. The owner clearly loves what he does and doesn't stoop to playing the same game the other coffee places are doing. Amazing sandwiches with made fresh each morning with the best tiger bread baguettes, the portions are huge, the prices are cheap, the atmosphere is a genuine expression of the owner and not a sterile corporate design like the other coffee shops near by. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming including the customers. I hope this small business is protected and never leaves north street, if Hennesys ever shuts down then you know Bedminster is dead. Please...
