I bought a Nintendo Switch from this store 3 months ago. 2 weeks after I got it, the charger broke.
I brought the console in today, clarifying 4 times to the lady at the front desk that the issue is with the charger, after she struggled to understand me and mistook the issue to be with the console. She told me to return after 30 minutes so they could test it.
I returned after 30 minutes, and I was now with another worker at the front desk. He told me that there was a fault found with the charger. He then told me my only option was to get a replacement console or get a refund. I emphasised to him that I don’t want either, I want to keep my console as it had all my game data on it and that all I need is a new charger.
His supervisor then came over and informed him that I could just get a new charger, as that was the sole issue. I was given a new, working charger, and then went to leave the store. As I was leaving, I noticed that my Nintendo Switch was requesting I create an account to set up the console.
I then returned to the front desk to ask whether they had wrongly reset my console, and he went to ask his colleague, and he returned to confirm that my console was wrongly reset, and with it all my game data. I asked why this was done, and he said that his colleague assumed that the issue was with the console, despite not even attempting a new charger. The colleague assumed that the console was damaged, and therefore would require a refund, and destroyed all game data without my consent or even a conversation.
The supervisor said that he will have a conversation with this colleague, but said there is nothing more he could do, and offered no form of compensation for all I had lost.
I will never shop at this store again, and if you want any item you bring in to be treated with a semblance of care, I’d recommend you do the same.
Update: After posting my review, CEX responded publicly claiming that “all items booked for testing are factory reset.” This is false in my case , the store manager, along with 2 other staff members confirmed to me in person that my Nintendo Switch was wrongfully reset in error and that customer consent is required before a reset, as I reported the issue to be with the charger rather than the console itself.

Travelled to the centre with the specific goal of trading in 2 mics SM7B (£203) and Rhode Podcaster (£32).
Girl behind the counter made it clear that serving anyone was a major chore. Part way through looking at the items she suddenly asked, "Why are you selling these?". This threw me off a little as I didn't realise I was required to justify exchanging an item in Cash Exchange...
I guess my surprised response came off as unacceptable to her so ended up offering me a max of £101 for both items. Even if I only sold the SM7B at the lowest grade, that's £150 alone.
Luckily I had double checked the prices before going in or they'd have tried ripping me off on the price even more than they usually do.
It's also worth noting that both items including the boxes are in near new condition.
I wouldn't recommend using the store, but if you're looking to trade in, it seems important you take your original receipts at risk of otherwise being accused of stealing the items and being given ridiculous quotes which I can only assume was made up on the spot. At the time of writing this, the price is still shown to be much higher on your website.

Today i have booked online ,to sell my playstation 5, went there thinking maybe i will get served in under 30 minutes, because there wasn't a big queue. In front of me was someone selling dvd s for 1p ,170 of them ,that needed checked. After another 5 minutes someone comes in ,goes to the empty till that was supposed just to sell ,he pulls out 5 dvds and the guy just says alright i will do it for you! I just couldn't believe it ,that s when i got mad shouted at them and they didn't even care ,they ve carried on like nothing wrong was happening... They ve seen me getting mad and leaving the queue after almost 1 hour and they didn t care at all... Never in my life will i ever set foot in these disgusting stores...
