I was in primarl princess Street. I asked a member of staff if I could use one of there primark bags to fill some stuff up because of covid 19 didnt want to touch the baskets that are provided since people from all over the world shop at the store touching the baskets. The staff I asked said it was okay. So I headed to your home section and a security gard started screaming over to me to get put the shop screaming this is the UK you can't do that I explained my reason and that I asked a primark worker it was okay, the bag was over my shoulder, he ran over and grabbed it off my shoulder told me to get out. I apologied there was a till next to us that the items I had I would pay for it all and leave. There was also a DJ bag in my shopping bag I was trying to get he refused it had shoes in it I bought, I literally had to shove my hands in to get my JD back. It was highly embarrassing the whole shop was staring I stayed in Edinburgh 24years been shopping there since it opened never experienced anything like that in my life, I also had a child with me who started crying soon as the security gard started shouting am a social worked I help young adults with severe problems part of that job is taking them out shopping the lady I had with me has PTSD she took a fit now I can't not shop at there as what my boss adciced me, also put this throw to complaints but for anyone with any mental health or issues even want to shop with a child princess Street primark don't you will leave...
Read moreI recently visited Primark on 27/08/2023 and had quite a disappointing experience with their self-scan system.
Unfortunately, I encountered an issue where the self-scan was duplicating items. Even more frustrating was the fact that I had to seek assistance from a store employee to resolve the problem. After the teller removed the duplicates, I thought the issue was resolved, but I ended up having to call the same employee back multiple times during my shopping trip to authorise the removal again. This ordeal took me by surprise, as I had to reach out four times in total.
What added to my frustration was the lack of available staff for traditional checkouts. There were no other registers open, leaving me with no choice but to rely on the self-scan despite the issues I had encountered earlier. This turned a simple shopping trip into a bit of a nightmare, with the self-scan causing more trouble than convenience.
Given the multiple challenges I faced during this shopping experience, I can only rate Primark two stars. The potential of the self-scan system is there, but the execution left much to be desired.
I hope Primark considers these issues and makes improvements to ensure a smoother and more hassle-free shopping experience for its customers...
Read morePrimark is always worth a visit. The Edinburgh Princess Street store is full to the brim of bargains for yourself your kids and your home.
It can be very busy on weekends so you should try popping in on Thursday for later shopping hours if you want to avoid a crowd but can't make it there during work hours.
The male clothing section is large and sells every type of clothing item you could hope to choose from. Recently I picked up a few items for the gym and was surprised by the quality of fit and fabric.
Its also excellent for the basics like vests, t-shirts, boxers and socks. If you want a light jacket for the spring they have lots of adequate choices, same goes for jumpers and shirts. Some of my nicest fitting shirts are slim fitting Primark efforts.
On the one occasion I had to return something I was attended to quickly and was given a full refund without any fuss. One very helpful and friendly member of staff called Lyndsey deserves special mention for helping me find a particular size of t-shirt when I couldn't locate it on the shelf. She was a credit to the store.
With escalators near the front door and only one floor down to the mens section you will feel well catered for at Primark if you are a male shopping...
