I gave this review 2 stars only because of the nice waitress we had, she was cheerful, friendly and helpful. She sorted an issue we raised on the night very efficiently. From the start the hostess was NOT friendly and felt like she didnt know what she was doing or unorganised, she showed us to a table then said oh your tabel isn't ready let's sit here near the window instead. I booked this especially for father's day for my husband and dad. We were telling him the news he would be a grandad again so pretty special occasion. When we got to the table it was a while before anyone came to take drinks order. I also had questions about the VERY misleading menu. As we were given menus on arrival even though what I booked was a set menu including the limited edition 18oz ribeye steak with sides and drinks and desert, however when I mentioned this to the waitress she was so unaware what I was talking about just saying there is no such thing even though I had confirmation once showing this she then said oh they sold out due to no show bookings earlier in the day and they took more walk in appointments which is disappointing as its like they were favoured over original bookings which has been arranged weeks prior. The sharing sunday roast menu was then offered in substitute when bringing the menu it was specified it was only a certain side of the menu and not the other side, so again alot of problems around the menu and probably need looked at and updated. I actually feel if we had just ordered from the main menu what we wanted the food would be cooked from order and actually HOT. When drinks finally arrived the pint was poor and pretty much half a glass I also ordered mocktail which tatsed of very sweet syrup and flat lemonade. I ordered a starter of the mushrooms due to having sold out of other items. These were very poor that I had to mention on the night, my intention was to tell them to take off the menu as no one else should be served this it was surprising that it was served the way it was to me. It was very watery felt like it was mushrooms from a tin no flavour from cheese and small bit soggy spinach I have had better dish from supermarket standard. However this was resolved quickly and removed from the bill. When the sharing platter arrived the only thing that was hot on here was the beef dripping gravy. Everything else was cold and really felt like a hotel buffet standard, very disappointing as this is a regular menu they do every sunday so it should be perfected but it was so poor quality. I booked Miller and Carter instead of the new RIO Brazilian due to past experience and the reputation they once had. This has extremely went down hill with poor service food and drinks. It is a shame as it should have been better organised as a business with father's day being a very popular day for outings on the Sunday aswell they didnt have the staff to manage they sold out of numerous items on the menu which means they weren't organised in stock I will not return after this poor experience and I will think about other nearby places.

First visit here last night. We arrived 20 minutes early however were shown promptly to our table. I felt a bit cramped to be honest as we were sat in between 2 other couples and although the restaurant was fully booked it did seem to have quite a few vacant tables additionally because we felt quite cramped meant we had no privacy to talk openly. Also noticed that a lot of food coming out the kitchen seemed to be going to the wrong tables. We were given menus at the table but it was 3 menus firsr one was the wine list, next being the set menu and the third was the a la carte menu and these were to share which is a bit frustrating when you are trying to decide which sharer steak you are planning on having etc so I did ask for an additional menu. We ordered rosê prosecco which I would highly recommend and our glasses had little blueberries in them which was lovely. Starters wild scallops with pea puree a bit pricey for what it was but delicious all the same, chicken Wings with some strange tasting cheese dip, the wings were nicely done in a bbq sauce. Mains we ordered the butchers block steak cooked medium to share and the cuts were nice and cooked mostly ok. The little salad bowls were basically iceberg lettuce with a bit of sauce over it. Steak sauces 3 peppercorn sauce which I didn't really like it was a bit spicy the other sauce was creamy Diane which was ok. Sides skinny fries and sweet potato both were beautiful and also beef dripping mac & cheese which was a bit weird it seemed to have some kind of beef bbq sauce underneath, I can't say it was bad and I'm still undecided if I liked it or not. We didn't have dessert. When we asked for the bill I think the guy forgot about us. Whilst we were awaiting the bill 2 female members of staff were taking soft drinks to a table however I'm assuming the customers didn't want ice and lemon so one girl emptied the glass onto the others tray and proceeded to take the glass to the table, I thought that was unprofessional and lazy and how do they know that this customer didn't have an allergy. Overall it was ok not great and I think there are better places in edinburgh with better service for the money you are paying.

This is, without a doubt, the single WORST restaurant service experience I have ever encountered in my life. The staff and the management of this establishment seem to possess no concept of time, basic professionalism, or accountability, and they had the audacity to blame their gross incompetence on the customers.

I had a prior reservation and arrived punctually at the scheduled time. Upon arrival, I was simply told to wait because the table wasn't ready. This is already frustrating, but what followed was far worse. We were left waiting for 20 minutes with no update. After following up a second time, we were finally seated 30 minutes past our reservation time.

The nightmare did not end there. After placing our order, it took approximately TWO HOURS for the food to arrive. I questioned the staff twice about this egregious delay, and their responses were utterly incomprehensible and disrespectful. They claimed that while we may have arrived on time, our order was placed 30 minutes later, and that "all the other customers are waiting, too," as if that somehow makes this delay acceptable.

Are you seriously running an establishment where a two-hour wait for food is considered normal? When I pressed them further on the unacceptable delay, the only pathetic defense offered was "It's Saturday and we are busy."

If you are aware that you are so busy that every single guest is waiting for over two hours for their food, why are you operating this way without taking any corrective action? If you cannot handle the volume of orders, you must take immediate steps: hire more staff, significantly limit reservations, or close temporarily. To waste the time of paying customers like this, regardless of how busy you are, is an insult.

This entire experience, from the 30-minute seating delay to the two-hour wait for the meal and the staff's amateur handling of the situation, demonstrates a profound failure in operations, whether this is a corporate issue or a franchise issue.

I came here with high expectations due to good reviews, hoping for a pleasant experience during my trip, but instead, I left deeply disappointed and frankly, infuriated. I strongly urge the restaurant to take a long, hard look in the mirror and engage in some serious self-reflection regarding their operational standards. I do not recommend this...
