Sorry. Can’t rate this one positively. Wanted a bit of self care. Went in for a hair cut and a hot towel shave an hour before closing. Hair is ok, but barber was uninterested throughout. We are about to start the hot towel shave when his friend pops his head in and say “we are waiting for you.”

“five minutes, maybe ten” says the barber, whips out the squirty mint shaving can and spends five mins trying to do an entirely cold shave. Of course, that doesn’t work, and my face pays the price. Haven’t been daft enough to try that since I was 13 with a can of Gillette and a dull blade.

“You want hot towel?” says the barber, then runs a hand towel under the warm tap, wrings it out and puts it on my face for 30 secs. It’s not hot. It doesn’t stop the spotting blood.

He knows it was a bad shave, as he finished up with a foil electric shaver to actually get it close, then douses me with an astringent spray in the hope it’ll close up.

Good lads by the look of them. The fella who cut my hair had his work cut out, no puns intended. It was an absolute matted mop of disheveled dyed carnage. Not a single sigh or groan at the task ahead, a smile, comb and a cut later and I was greatly please with the result. No complaints only compliments for this squad.
