This was my favourite place to go with friends until yesterday. We have spent alot of time and money in this place. A group of 12 of us went there yesterday for my 40th birthday party after brunch in Post round the corner. It was fairly quiet in there, us and a hen party with one or 2 smaller groups. Unbeknown to me the staff had singled me out early on as being too drunk. I was drunk, but happy and having a great time with everyone and I have been far far worse in there on many occassions and they have continued to serve us. All of a sudden we were asked to get out, a bald guy who I think was the manager was physically pushing my friend up the stairs man handling her out of the door which was totally unnecessary as she wasn't resisting in any way. At this point I had a few choice words to say as it is totally unacceptable to forcefully push a lady out, especially as she hadn't made any physical contact with him. They were overly aggressive and honestly we were just so shocked as hadn't done anything in there other than dance and spend money at the bar. I will be making an official complaint and would like to see CCTV of the manager pushing my friend around. We asked for his name but he said he didn't have to give his name. If this is how they treat a few harmless drunk women I'd hate to see what unfolds when there is any actual unruly behaviour in there.
Update: we have since found out that my friend who was pushed out by the manager had been wrongly identified by him. There was another girl wearing yellow in there who had thrown up everywhere. So when my friend, also wearing yellow, came out of the bathroom to be told "you need to get out".....of course we were all in shock!! It all makes sense now as I kept thinking how are we being kicked out when that girl in yellow is way more drunk than us!!! Maybe if staff learned to communicate politely with paying customers this kind of thing would be avoided. Instead they jump straight to aggression, and when questioned they become even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIm giving 1 stars for the mixologist who made the best cocktails but Iām not giving any stars for this establishment itself and the staff. They were rude and cleared our table of drinks which we had not finished and the bar manager put his finger in our drink whilst collecting the glass. We stopped him and said we had not finished the drink ,and could he please get us another one as quite rightly so my partner did not want to finish it after it had a manās finger in the glass. The bar manger just said ātoo lateā my partner was gobsmacked and swore at him as he was really annoyed at the bar managers arrogance and his dirty finger in his drink!. He then got the bouncers to throw us out. I have never in my life been treated this way nor has my partner. We are group of people over 40 all just enjoying Xmas drinks! Disgusting customer service and rude aggressive staff especially the bar manager! The doormen were ok they had a job to do but the staff there⦠I would never even look in this bars direction again. Iām an 46 year old woman Iām not out for trouble and the way they tried to clear our table before we finished our drinks and then proceed to throw us out when we challenged them about the fact we had not actually finished them was absurd. Totally aggressive and unhappy staff. word to the mixologist.!! Find a better establishment to work in as your too good for this place! Expressing Martini was out this world⦠shame about the unhappy people who run the place. And to top it all off we spent about Ā£100 here.. Shame on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to Be At One several times now and itās a great place to visit, with a nice atmosphere and a good range of drinks. Iāve always had a very positive experience, apart from a couple of nights ago (Thursday 15th December). I was with my team from work and having a great time, and upon trying to get back in from being in the smoking area the bouncers on the door refused to let me back in, claiming that I was ātoo drunkā. Despite my demonstration of my relative sobriety they continued to refuse and said that nothing I would do would convince them otherwise. The short one (possibly French) seemed fairly reasonable but the tall one was extremely rude and made several threats, and was clearly on some sort of power trip, I would assume fuelled by some deep-routed insecurities. Unfortunately this ended my night early, which was quite the disappointment. I understand there has to be limits on who they let in, and they canāt let in people who are heavily intoxicated. But I had consumed maybe four drinks at that point, and was well below what I would consider the threshold for refusal of entry. Three stars given as this is a great bar, but let down by very...
