Zizzi has always been a favourite of mine, and this Bournemouth branch certainly lived up to expectations. The warm-toned interior design creates an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. The service was equally impressive—the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which added to the overall experience. We ordered the Beef Brisket & Venison Stufato and the Pan-Fried Salmon & Pesto Risotto, both of which were exceptionally well-prepared. The stufato was rich and hearty, with the brisket and venison slow-cooked to perfection, resulting in melt-in-the-mouth tenderness and a deep, flavourful sauce that paired beautifully with the accompanying sides. The salmon dish was equally impressive, with a crispy, well-seared fillet resting on a creamy, basil-infused risotto, where the pesto added just the right amount of freshness and depth. A truly enjoyable meal in a lovely setting, made even better by the fantastic service—huge thanks to the team for making the experience so pleasant!

Good evening, I went on a date with my husband tonight. Just to let you know we both working in restaurants so we do know how to behave with costumers, we never had a complain before even if we saw something but what happened today made me so mad. In the beggining, the waitress already came with an attitude…sorry if you aren’t having a good day please dont ruin others. We ordered the 3 course meal, which was just okay but we ate better before. For almost £100 I was expecting better service and food for only two people. Check back was happened that’s the only good point. We ordered a bottle of wine the waitress served it but we got a different wine. We were already drinking it when we realised so we didnt want to complain after but we mentioned it to her in the end and the biggest problem was SHE DIDNT EVEN SAID SORRY…Excuse me ? That is rude. Please next time take care better with your costumers because you are going to lose them. We just paid and left. Dont worry we are not coming back again.

Came quite late one evening as we were in the area driving home, seated by I believe a manager, who later didn’t really pay us much attention as they were standing by the tills ‘cashing up’. After trying to flag down a couple of other servers we finally got our food, wife’s ragu pasta needed replacing as it wasn’t hot enough as it had sat on the side to be brought to the table for too long.. garlic bombe was delicious and hot, toward the end of us being there a waitress called Lauren (?) (I think that’s her name, she was blondeish and cleaning the cups/glasses behind the bar, she came over and really gave us her all. So it’s been a mixed visit really. Didn’t start too good but was saved a little by someone else. Would come back, probably not an hour before closing and I’d probably make sure we dress up rather than coming in our work clothes so we fit in a little more…

Really disappointed.. we come in to the restaurant every now and then.. the last time we came for dinner was when the old manager worked there before the refurb.. we came for dinner this evening and both our lasagnes came out completely frozen in the middle.. no excuse for this.. they should be probing food before sending it out , the second mains we had after telling the waitress were bland and tasteless and she said it all comes in prepackaged now so you can’t even remove certain ingredients anymore. It’s just become a more glam version of Wetherspoons..

The waitress didn’t even seem surprised by anything which made us feel like this isn’t the first time incidents like this have happened. All I can say is that it’s lucky that I have experience in the hospitality sector as someone would have eaten a meal and probably ended up with food poisoning.

I’ve attached a picture of the lasagne frozen in the middle with the £3 upgrade of extra sauce round the edges.

UPDATE: Just went to order a desert off the set menu we chose to order from due to the desert we like being on it.. and now have been told at the end of our meal that they don’t have the desert we want. This should have been stated at the beginning. We then asked for the manager and she raised her voice at us so everyone was starting and then once we had told her of our disappointment and issues with the kitchen she said not to worry about paying for the meal even though we offered to pay.. this just made us feel like idiots in front of everyone else staring.. like we were trying to get a meal for free...

We arrived here, was told we can not sit outside and have food, in spite of the fact people were outside having food which isn’t a problem but the way we were told was so rude and abrupt left me feeling unsure of the service there.

Ordered cocktails - I expected my strawberry daiquiri to have crushed ice but instead was with just ice, a stick of rosemary and an overly sweet juice.

Ordered starter with skewer of prawns and Aioli. Starter came out, was missing Aioli so I asked again, asked a third time and was still left waiting. I went up to the counter to wait and ask the fourth time by which point starter was cold.

The prosciutto and salami was hot and tough, the tomatoes tasted a bit off, the olives were seeded and bland, bruschetta was soggy. Throughly disappointed.

When the Aioli came out we tried it and we’re baffled as it tasted like sour cream, not Aioli (we travel round Italy a couple of times a year for years). I asked the waitress if there is a confusion, she told me it was indeed Aioli and do I want a fresh one, I said no, she immediately turned away and rushed off.

After that we decided to cancel the main course and leave, all the staff we dealt with seemed very rude and uninviting, they made no attempt to ask if everything was okay or why we wanted to leave so suddenly.

The food was terrible, we didn’t want to see how the main courses were and the cocktails were also very bad.

Wouldn’t come here again, wouldn’t recommend. Waste of £36 for two drinks...

My family and I recently celebrated Christmas at Zizzi in Bournemouth, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. With a group of 23 of us, we were thrilled with how smoothly everything went.

Booking Process: From the moment I made the reservation online, the assistant manager reached out to confirm our booking and discuss preorders. She was incredibly supportive, accommodating changes and ensuring that our orders were just right. Her attention to detail and responsiveness made us feel valued even before we stepped foot in the restaurant.

The Big Day: On the day of our celebration, the Zizzi team truly shone. The food arrived exactly as ordered, and the staff had a remarkable system in place. Each dish was delivered to the right person without any confusion. It’s no small feat to manage a large group, but they did it with finesse.

Friendly and Patient: The team’s friendliness and patience stood out. They made sure everyone felt welcome and attended to our needs promptly. Whether it was dietary preferences or special requests, they handled it all with a smile.

In summary, Zizzi in Bournemouth exceeded our expectations. Everything went perfectly, and we left with full hearts (and full bellies). If you’re looking for a place to celebrate with family or friends, Zizzi is the perfect choice. Kudos to the entire team for making our Christmas gathering...
