As someone who has worked in hospitality I hate to leave a bad review but I feel on this occasion it is totally necessary.I went last Saturday (18th jan) with a large group for a friends birthday.Usually we love slug as the vibes are great and usually staff are all fine however me and my friend ordered our drinks through the app on this occasion as it’s 241 cocktails. One friend ordered two drinks on the app waited 15 minutes and then spoke to staff and they gave him his drinks then me and my friend ordered two pins coladas separately on her phone. I would also like to add we had been ordering through the app for the last hour as the staff told us to due to the fact we had a table and received all our drinks. waited again 15 minutes and went to check as staff were just stood talking they then said the order had not come through on there till so we then showed photos of bank statements ,showing the time of the order and then told the staff what we ordered. When I got up the bank statements which said pending the staff member said “well that’s what happens when you don’t have enough money” in a belittling tone. They said “as it says pending the payment hasn’t gone through” but money was deducted from my account and was just processing(I have checked my bank statements this morning and the money has left my account and all now say settled) all our previous drinks through the app also said pending in my bank statements but we had received them drinks.They then made us pay again for our drinks but only gave us one set. I then said to the two staff members (Dan and Daniel) that we will pay for this now and we will go sit and enjoy the rest of our night but if the money is removed from my account and you are incorrect then we will be making a complaint and asking for my refund. the staff then realised that the till had ran out of till roll and then began putting a new roll in to which printed the receipt of our order which didn’t say declined etc but still told me and my friend we were in the wrong and we had got mixed up. I then said can you explain how you have the receipt on the till but are still saying we have made a mistake. The staff member then said “go sit down , we’re too busy to talk to you” and then kept repeating in my face to go sit down. We walked away as we could tell there was no talking and sorting this out there as the staff were so hostile and rude.As we walked away we looked back to see both staff members laughing about the situation which mad me even more disappointed in their unprofessionalism and I definitely did not find it funny but actually quite embarrassing as they are representing your company and humiliating customers. Luckily i didn’t let this ruin the rest of my evening due to my character but If this were anyone else it could have really ruined their night and left them short of money. I didn’t want to post this review online as I just wanted my money refunded so on Sunday I sent an email through stone gate as instructed by one of the staff members, I waited the 72 hours it could take for a response but got nothing so started to call up this slug and lettuce, every time it just went to voice mail. After trying so many times I just left a voice mail waiting for a call back. I waited 2 days but never got a call back so I tried calling them up again. I got through to someone who told me that the email needed to have been sent to them so she told me to forward to her. I have done this and 2 days later have still not received a reply so I tried calling back again today and again got put through to voicemail!! So it is now over a week later and they have done nothing to get...
Read moreAs a group we attended S & L for the bottomless brunch in celebration of a joint Hen and Stag do for my best friends. Other venues were not able to accommodate a party of 14 so we struck gold by booking here - and from this point it only got better. Although on arrival the previous booking were still finishing up (not a problem as having worked in hospitality previously I know how hard it is to try and shift a group who love a boozy brunch!) it took only a few minutes for the brilliant Manager Daniel and his team to get the table flipped and ready for us.
As soon as we were sat, our Waiter Drew took our drinks orders... and they didn't stop coming - it was GREAT! The service was brilliant, food was incredible (so much so that I ate my friends too) and as the night went on the vibe of the place got better and better.
Initially planning to see what else was about in Bournemouth it was a no brainer to stay where we were, and again thanks to Daniel and the team, who managed to find us another spot to accommodate us staying.
If you are planning a special occasion, or just need a good blow out, I cannot recommend Slug and Lettuce on Richmond Hill enough. I miss it already.
