Read moreLast night after shouting from the rooftops from a visit I had at a branch earlier in the week Wood Green Crispy Dosa which I loved 1000% I took my wife and son to be so so sadly disappointed very disappointed this branch first issue yes I understand it’s the. Royal borough of Windsor . Then the prices are at least 50 % more expensive than the branch in Wood Green the decor was much posher the music was all wrong . Yes I am a dj I know a lot about music . You are claiming you are Authentic sorry nothing Authentic about Windsor this Branch let’s the name of Crispy Dosa Down badly. I understand these are all franchise’s but regardless all should be at the very high level [if Gordon Ramsey came in here he would rip it to bits] the Crispy Dosa was half the size and way way to Crispy to the point it didn’t even taste right we ordered three and one started two soft drinks and to say my wife complained so much to me We don’t like to complain all the time but I am a real reviewer and I will do a detailed review. The staff where very polite and very professional no points deducted their but sorry to say I don’t care which branch of Crispy Dosa I walk into I expect the same quality of the food regardless and there should not be such a price hike yes this is a Tourist area but this is a rip off paper roast Crispy Dosa is £7.99 in Wood Green here in Windsor it’s no where near as good Half the Size and £10.50 complete Rip off !!! At least have the same high standard if your charging a higher price so many companies fail yes this Branch was much more Busier than the one in Wood Green . I suggest the owner goes to Wood Green and has a secret Experience without telling them and taste the very high standard I experienced there I seriously wish I had driven there because Windsor is so far away from where I live !!! The company should ensure all branches deliver the high same standard the sauces and Samber where exactly the same but the Dosa was no where near as good or tasty as the one I had in Wood Green .. I hope the owner seriously looks at this as a learning curve because once I have tasted a high standard I expect it anywhere to be exactly the same this was a terrible experience very expensive food and very very poor quality my wife and I go to a very busy Dosa Express in Wembley that is so cheap and absolutely brilliant for the price and quality of food To say I will never come back to Windsor again is an understatement !!! The staff where all polite let me make this clear but you seriously need to look at the Food that you are serving out of this Restaurant !!! Very poor quality !!! I should be giving this a 1 Star 2 out of 10 because as a customer we always come for the food !!! sadly a very bad experience I don’t like to give a restaurant a bad review but sorry this has had to be a very bad experience and yes we did finish all the food but sadly it is very very poor and...
Read moreI am giving this a one star review, not because of the quality of the food – but because of the inability of the restaurant to actually deliver that food to us .
There are some key rôles in a restaurant: cooks cook food; serving staff serve it. Even though the restaurant was only a third full when we turned up at 15:50, somehow the order taken on the fancy tablet app got lost. That meant it was not cooked, and therefore not served. Where I am particularly let down is that the serving staff did not notice we were not eating even though they were now delivering food to people who had come in after us. And in response to the question "where is our food?" -all we got was the platitude "it is coming".
Going up to the counter after 30 minutes and telling them to go into the kitchen and find out where the food has got to did finally trigger them into action -where they came back a few minutes later and said "it is on the pan". No apology -just a message that it really is coming this time. My wife being pre-diabetic had to warn them that it was not safe for her to stay without food, and they had exactly 2 minutes to deliver it. We gave them three minutes and I was actually walking out the door when they finally turned up with a plate; mine coming a couple of minutes later. Which shows they can actually deliver when told to get their act together. And the food, when delivered was actually very good south Indian food. Whoever ever cooks it knows how to cook well. It is a shame that they do not know to go through a list of orders and fulfil them. The staff were very nice too -it is a shame that most of the things they said were platitudes about the food actually cooked. Overall, I believe we waited 40 to 45 minutes for the meal.
Like I said, the food is very authentic – and a lot of South Asian families were in there with their children enjoying a Saturday evening meal. And nobody else was complaining about their deliveries. Maybe we were just unlucky and the incompetence of the kitchen was limited to just our table. We won't be back though – it was just too bad an experience.
If anyone does go to eat here – I would recommend making a note of exactly when your order was placed and if it is not delivered after 15 minutes going up to the counter and...
