New Venue Review
Haven't been here for a long time, but since its moved to 1st floor of Daniels we thought we would give it a try. Firstly, on entry its dark, dull and totally uninviting, unless your sitting by the window its hard to see anything. The atmosphere is non existent. I see the owner says he spent 250k on a refurb, perhaps he did, don't know where, certainly not on the chairs, the most uncomfortable chairs ever, like being back at school. The service was lack lustre and basically just are you ready to order, no chit chat or anything. Felt Very like we were disturbing their chatter. Prior to us going here I checked out the menu as advertised on the website under the new venue. Therefore current prices. you would think, but, going in this place the prices are way different. I have the menu with the prices as displayed currently on the web. (sure they will change it.)
We ordered a cheese and bacon burger Web price 13.75 actual price charged 14.50 with chips Web price 4.00 actual price charged 4.50 Half rack of ribs Web price 14.00 actual price charged 15.00 1 pink IPA (small can) Web price 5.50 actual price charged 6.00 1 x 7 up Web price 3.25 actual price charged 4.00 1 chocolate milk shake Web price 5.50 actual price charged 7.0O So obviously no money was spent on checking the finer details. on top of this a 6.38 service charge, which frankly I would not have paid. The waitress could just about be bothered , slapped the milkshake down and said milkshake. No enjoy your drinks. or anything. no customer service skills whatsoever.
The chips were greasy, like they had been previously cooked & re-heated. the burger, bland and frankly tasteless. My husband said he had better ribs elsewhere. All in all a shockingly horrid tasteless experience. £7 for a milkshake that was below average is a complete rip off. I have seen the comments the owner wrote after a customer criticised this place and what he called him, so I am fully expecting some charming response. But as the old saying goes, if you can't stand the heat then stay out of the kitchen. There are much better cheaper restaurants in Windsor with more helpful friendly staff. I would save your money and go somewhere where your custom is appreciated. I would not go back here if...

We rocked up around 9pm with no reservation and there was only one free table in the whole place, luckily we only wanted one so we were off to a good start.
The choice of beers was uninspiring. Becks, Budweiser and Brooklyn were the choices. I went for the Brooklyn out of curiosity and because the other two were about as exciting as spending a day across the way at the railway station looking at trains. The Brooklyn was ok, but a little hoppier than I like my beer, your mileage may vary.
I started with "Hot! Buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce". They were pretty good but if you put an exclamation mark after the word hot then you had better not be writing cheques which your chef can't cash. They weren't hot enough to justify the exclamation mark in my eyes.
For my main I went for the 16oz T bone. It was tasty but not the best cut I've ever had. I asked for it rare and I got it rare, and the presentation of it was good. The chips were skin on and had a good flavour to them. There isn't much greenery in sight, but you come here for the meat, right?
All in it was a decent meal, just nothing that amazing. It doesn't deserve the ££££ price rating. My starter was £7, mains are £15/£22.
Stop by if you are in town and you should enjoy it. If you travel from further afield just to try it out you might feel a little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreApart from the food not being good, this place has a serious food safety lack of awareness with minor consideration for allergens as required under uk law. Only one mention of the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich Containing āseveral allergens ā what about the allergens in the rest of the menu ! For example: I ordered a burger, no where did the menu state it contained mayonnaise (egg being one of the 14 customer notifiable potentially deadly allergens) The staff were unaware and not a single specific allergen was mentioned on the menu The menu did mention service charge, somewhat summing up the priorities of this restaurant My burger (which I did not eat due to my egg allergy) also contained a renegade piece of macaroni ! This demonstrates a total lack of kitchen controls in an establishment which appears to ignore the spirit and content of allergen legislation. A deadly combination if ever there was one. This restaurant has many problems. This is evident from the feedback. Whoever is in charge needs to heed FSA legislation before even contemplating sorting out service and quality issues. As a minimum have your menus identify the ingredients you are serving and the presence of the 14 notifiable allergens, basic information that all good restaurants already include. Sort out your kitchen because you have a major cross contamination issue. Become an allergen aware restaurant of excellence, care about your customers and serve...
