Although conveniently located close to the town centre the parking garage needs some huge investment. It is a bit run down, the stairwells smell of urine and bleach and was strewn with litter. The pay machine was also not reading cards so we tried the payment app. It was a long winded process and was very confusing to use. You had to register your details (which is standard) and then bizzarly had to start your stay which resulted in a stopwatch style clock counting the minutes of your stay. At the end you stopped the clock and it then charged your card appropriately. This sounds simple but my constant thought whilst exploring Windsor was "what would I do if my mobile battery died?" And "what if I accidentally closed the app?". I wish they would just use RingGo. So much easier to use. Set a desired time...pay and that's it. If you need longer, you bolt on...
Read moreI felt compelled to write this bad review of how NOT to run a car park in 2018. Firstly the bays are tiny they we're probably designed for the original mini. The ticket machines DON'T take either notes or cards?? You'll need a pocket full of coins before you decide to park here!! After trying the park mobile app which is an option ( after downloading it and registering my details it failed to recognise me even though I'd just created the account!!) I was left to walk to town after trying other people for coins who was in exactly the same situation as me and after around 40 mins of going up and down in the grotty little lift to town I finally came back triumphant with 9 one pound coins for my measly 4 hours. Oh yea when you exit the car park keep turning left as the exit arrows have all...
Read moreAbsolute Rip Off. Had never used a Start/Stop car park before. No mention of it when paying for one hour's parking on the Ringo App at 1 pm, or in the confirmation text message which said I'd been charged £1.60 for one hour, as I wanted. Only 45 minutes after the session started was I sent a text message saying this was a Start/Stop car park and I would be charged until 9 pm that evening unless I stopped it. I left the car park at 1.40 pm, and as I was driving for some time I didn't see the text about Start/Stop until 3.30 pm. I then had to pay for 2.5 hours of parking, when I was only in the car park for 40 minutes. A disgusting, dirty, devious rip off. Beware. Secondly, the parking spaces are the narrowest I have ever witnessed. Dangerously so. A car park to avoid for...
