Have had two laser hair removal treatments to date and each time I was treated in a professional and friendly manner which put me at ease. The treatment was fully explained as were any possible side effects, a full medical history was taken as was my skin type recorded and explained to ensure that I got the correct power of laser to be effective but minimise discomfort. my skin was cleansed prior to treatment and bathed in gel, I was given goggles to wear to protect my eyes and the therapist talked me through the whole process. The process itself proved to be painless, I had been expecting it to be painful but felt no more than flicks akin to an elastic band to the skin, totally bareable to get results. A cooler is on throughout the treatment and the whole process to my face was over in approx 15 mins. After my treatment the therapist enquired if i was ok and applied some soothing gel giving me instructions about after care. I experienced no redness at all afterwards and had instant results in fact coudl smell the singeing of the hair while it was being lasered, I was told that my odd white hairs would not be destroyed however all my dark hairs were targeted and i am thrilled already with the results after just two treatments i no longer resemble a bearded lady! a common problem for us menopausal ladies. I am excited to complete my course of treatment and have a hair free chin and upper lip again , also note that it has improved the overall condition of the skin on my face, probably as i no longer play constantly with the stray hairs that used to continually sprout. The Therapist i had was called Jade and she was epitome of professionalism i felt totally relaxed and had total faith in her abilities and in the advice she gave me re after care. I would recommend this clinic to anyone, being in my mid fifties i am a novice to beauty clinics and didnt really think they could make that much difference, but how i have changed my mind and am now a total convert, think i may like to work my way throught their comprenhsive treatment menu, think they could make...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could - avoid at all costs. I even raised a complaint but have heard nothing back so feel I have to submit this review.
I had developed a rash on my face since January 2022 and thought it best to go private and pay rather than be placed on a long waiting queue and see my GP.
I spent £150 to see a ‘highly qualified’ dermatologist at this Glasgow clinic. She was 20 minutes late. No problem, I thought, I’ll let that go if the appointment will be of use and help me. But what followed was something like this: ‘that rash doesn’t look like it will go away’, ‘why did you go for that facial?’, ‘your beautician should not have given you that facial’, ‘I need to know the ingredients of the facial you had before I can help’. And she was under the impression I had a chemical peel when I NEVER once said I had a chemical peel, just a routine facial that I’ve had for years with no issues. So, rather than help me fix my problem she was more interested in placing blame. No empathy, no understanding, no listening. She was adamant it was a hyperpigmentation problem. I left the clinic with my confidence even lower than before I entered the clinic, thinking I was scarred forever.
I then went back to my free of cost GP who has diagnosed a skin infection and given me medication . My skin is now healing and getting much much better. So, it was not simply a case of ‘hyperpigmentation’.
Moral of the story: private is not always best, they just want your want your money. Save £150 and go see your GP instead. And if you really want to go private, get a recommendation first via your GP. Sad thing is I was actually looking forward to this appointment with Skin Clinic, thinking ‘it’s private, I’m paying a lot of money, what can go wrong?’ How naive of me....
Read moreI am generally pleased with the service provided and definitely felt that everyone tried their best. I came for a mole removal excision on my face however on the day the surgeon was saying it would be a laser removal which is not what was agreed and not what I was expecting - it ended up being an excision after I spoke up. The experience during surgery was generally good (amazing care from the assisting staff) however the surgeon was being a bit rough when injecting local anaesthetic and removing a bib that was stuck by an adhesive to my neck - nothing major. I was given very small dressing and tape to put over the stitches until the removal next week - I was supposed to cut it up into smaller pieces which meant the dressing would no longer be sterile and possibly increased the risk of infection - I got myself a box of sterile dressings from pharmacy at my own cost for my own peace of mind. When I came for my stitches removal I had to wait for over 1.5 hours to be seen from the time of my original appointment time. Throughout this time the reception staff was very reassuring and keeping me generally informed however I was under the impression the communication from the surgeon was very limited and they themselves didn’t know how long the wait was going to be. The procedure itself went well and I am pleased with results - most of these small complaints have to do with the individual surgeon who performed my procedure and not the practice in general and even those are relatively minor but I can see how somebody with lower pain tolerance and patience would have reacted differently and kicked up a fuss especially about the wait which again reception staff did everything to keep me informed about to the best of...
