Hong Kong Windsor — Restaurant in Great Britain

If I could rate this place as 0 I would. WINDSORS WORST “restaurant”.

Foodies, do not go to this place. Honest people, do not go to this place.

The food was frozen and not fresh.

After 45 minutes, FORTY FIVE minutes of deliberation - trying to explain that we were not happy with the food, or service (will touch on this later), they restrained us from leaving.

This is the first time in my life I’ve ever contemplated not wanting to pay for outside food.

Amicably tried to explain our concerns. Not a single apology from 5 of the staff members. Just a persistence to shove their card machine at us and ask us to pay.

Honestly guys, I’ve tolerated bad food and service before but it felt like this was just “another” transaction for this place.

Consistently being told that their customers have no issues with their food etc… when I explained our concerns we were told it was illegal to leave.

I felt violated by the staff at this place - they don’t care about their customers, they only care about their bottom line.

Do not go to this place even if you are after a budget Chinese, there are plenty of other places in Windsor for a much better experience.

Side note - there were prawn crackers and old chopsticks below our seats from the last customers, hygiene...

This is definitely the best Chinese ever! The meat is perfectly cooked the soups are fabulous and those delicious prawn crackers will leave you dumbfounded. I don’t have much experience eating in but there are nice spots to sit if you are dining in. For takeout you just call in advance and in up-to half an hour it will be steaming hot and ready. But being a family of 4 we usually like to take out and eat at home. Hong Kong gives you to have a complex meal a very simple one or just a snack, because of this it can be very good for kids for the simplicity and also introducing them into more complex foods as they get older, this is one of the the only Chinese restaurant that my kids completely finish the table at. The staff there are extremely friendly and will not stop to offer a sweet...

Given the good reviews they had, we popped in on the off-chance (knowing there were others around) but luckily they had free tables without needing a reservation.

For 4 of us, we ordered 6 plates, thinking that was sufficient - but each serving was quite small that we could have ordered plenty more. Nonetheless, it was all delivered quite quickly and was pretty tasty for what it was.

Although what we got didn't represent value for money (I guess you pay for quality), I'd still return, given the quality of the dishes - but will look at ordering...
