W.Archer & Son — Local services in Great Britain

A few months ago for the first time I went to this butchers. I ordered six sausages and thought I was overcharged. I vowed never to return. But today I thought I would give them a second chance. But this time I would tell them how much I wanted to pay first. This is how it went.

"Can I have two pork chops please. Price £3 to £4". He starts cutting them up, I’m thinking they are quite small. It’s going to be nearer £3. He weighs them. "That’ll be £6.53". "What! I said £3 to £4". "That’s each" he said. "I can get bigger chops than that much cheaper at Food Hall in Leicester Market". "Go there then" he said pointing to the door. So I did. Two much bigger chops (see photo) and saved £2. The arrogance of this butcher is astounding. They are vastly overcharging. I support local businesses, but ones like this hopefully don’t survive....

I recently visited W.Archer & Son , and I couldn't be more impressed! The selection of meats was outstanding, The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to help me choose the perfect cut for my dinner party, (Which they didn't need to do) I also appreciated their recommendations for marinades and cooking tips. The quality of the meat was exceptional, and it made all the difference in my meals. The pricing is more than fair for the quality meat you receive!

After an exhaustive search of the remaining butchers in the city for pig kidneys, I contacted W. Archers, who fortunately had them in stock. They not only had the kidneys, but they also expertly dressed and diced them for me. This establishment is a true gem, a genuine butcher shop that stands in stark contrast to the prepackaged butchers that have become prevalent. The quality and freshness of their products were exceptional, and the pricing was highly competitive. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and intend to make it my exclusive butcher of choice...
