Fare — Restaurant in Leeds

This was genuinely my favourite place in otley until the last 12 months. The food was great, the wine was great but something has changed in the last 6-12 months. Tonight we turned up admittedly without a reservation so accepted that we would sit outside. Not a problem. When we were served it became obvious that the place was so overbooked that they could not even offer us olives with our wine. Instead of apologising and saying come back another time, the staff were rude and when I gently pointed this out they told us that “maybe we shouldn’t come back”. I’m a massive fan of small business and would always choose them over a larger one. I’m hoping for Otley that this is a blip. This is such a lovely place, but I’m not sure what has happened- maybe financial stress? I’m genuinely bewildered by the change and I hope for others things improve, but for us, I was so upset tonight that I’m not going back. I have tried to make this review as reasonable as possible. What a lovely venue! A great location in the centre of Otley, with an amazing selection of reasonably priced wines, cheese, meats and more. We ended up ordering more food than expected, because the whole menu sounded too delicious to resist! The staff were fantastically welcoming, and their wine and cocktail recommendations hit the spot.
